  1. More so on what his overall philosophy is. Like how he likes to use the line and LB's. How he runs his zone coverage. Why he keeps Horn only on the sort side of the field.. That kind of thing. We have some X and O guys here.. was looking for an informed football discussion.
  2. I know we have a few film study people in this group.. Last year was infuriating (with no players) this year you can start to 'see it' coming together.. and like Mr Scott said, Evero is likely here to stay. Can someone do a deep dive in the philosophy of this defense and how its supposed to work? .. the deeper the dive the better
  3. Hate to break it to you.. but most players dont have a lofty and lovely end to their NFL career.. dude got paid millions and now has a TV career because of it.. I dont feel bad that the team moved on from a washed up QB.
  4. Dude.. that doesn't look far off.. And sure, Cam looks like he threw for slightly more yards.. if you watched him you could see him arm was broken... you cannot sign him to a new record breaking contract with that.
  5. No one is making the argument that Cam was a better QB in every aspect than BY. BY's super power was supposed to be his decision making... and we can see how that has played out..
  6. Agree 100% Cam was a superstar that wasn't ready to acknowledge that he was no longer that. I don't even blame him for that. Cam could at least say he deserved to get paid cause of who he was. But glad the team didn't resign him.
  7. People forget that it was reported HE WAS NOT GOING TO PLAY OUT HIS DEAL.. and he wanted a new deal. So the decision is, pay him a new top of the league contract for a QB with a busted arm.. or let him go. ...It was time to let him go.
  8. The trauma is real tho.. lets just start collecting QB's
  9. I have too much trauma of us cutting 1st round QB's only to see them do well elsewhere.. I would bang the drum to keep him and bring in other QB's for a true QB battle. Canales like to take credit for Russel Wilson.. well then do what you did his rookie year and create a true camp battle.
  10. Just fug off with that.. Cam at the beginning of his career dealt poorly with hardships. I dont think thats a big issue saying. I also get how his whole persona and how he carried himself/dress was not everyone's ideal. Regardless Cam was appreciated by basically every fan for his contributions to the team. We had some pretty special years with him. But this whole "we deserve this" cause we cut a QB that couldn't throw the ball anymore is ridiculous and tiring.
  11. Seemed to work pretty good in Indy this year..
  12. Explain this to me. Why wouldnt they just let him play out the contract?
  13. IMO 2027 is the year we draft a QB. But for 2026 we should bring in a vet or 2 AND Bryce. Canales says he wants to promote competition.. let them duke it out. Top 2 make the team. I honestly done care who wins, but whoever does is on a short leash.
  14. We are going to cook. Lets put the league on notice.
  15. I also went on record saying the highest rated WR would be good as well... Jokes aside.. he is a difference maker.
  16. I like DC. I liked that after game 2 last year - which was game 2 as him being a head coach, he benched Young. I like that he has those balls. I was then confused when he didnt start to feature Rico after his run. DC is in a tough place with Young. He has an offence he wants to run but a QB that cannot do it. So do you bend to try to work with what Young can do.. or force your system?
  17. I would agree.. we wont be in a good spot to draft a guy next year. Trevor, Mac, Pickett, Murray... all guys that are on the table IMO
  18. I dont mind him being positive.. What bothers me is his action statement without action.. His mantra was to be like Pete Carrol. Bring in competition and let the best man play. DC showed that he cannot do this.. look at Ricco and Hubbard. One was clearly playing better and yet he favored feelings over performance. You can be a 'positive minded' coach and yet have high expectations.
  19. Yeah.. its amazing how people get all worked up about contracts here.. like its "the next man up" in terms of mega contracts.. teams have already proven that its not hard to work around big contracts. I often come here thinking that this is the place for good football talk but often realize that most people that post here know little to nothing about how football and the operations of football actually work. SMH
  20. I think there will be some vets become available this offseason that I would consider bringing in to compete. Mac Jones Kyler Murray Kenny Pickett Tua Mariota We are not drafting a QB in the first 2 rounds.. we also have BY somewhat cheap still.. so our BEST option is to bring in people and have them fight it out in a true competition..
  21. Based on that.. we we are offered a 5th we should take it and consider ourselves blessed... But I would rather win games then get a low round draft pick.. lets ground and pound babeee!!
  22. Here’s a quick look at recent NFL compensatory picks that were tied (at least in part) to teams losing a running back in free agency: 2019 NFL Draft (for 2018 FA): • Patriots — Round 6 (for Dion Lewis leaving for the Titans). Over the Cap 2022 NFL Draft (for 2021 FA): • Packers — Round 7 (for Jamaal Williams leaving for the Lions). SI+1 2023 NFL Draft (for 2022 FA): • Cardinals — Round 6 (for Chase Edmonds leaving for the Dolphins). Over the Cap+2Arizona Cardinals+2 2024 NFL Draft (for 2023 FA): • No RB departures ended up producing a listed comp pick in the NFL’s 2024 release/evaluations. Over the Cap+1 2025 NFL Draft (for 2024 FA): • Cowboys — projected/awarded comp picks in the 2025 cycle included one attributable in part to Tony Pollard’s departure (commonly projected as a Round 6 value).
  23. Chuba makes more sense if only looking at player vs player. Chuba is not getting traded given his contract.
