Who said he’s a victim? Who said he didn’t have the thought to learn the playbook? You are trolling. You are arguing with me about things I never wrote.
-
Only because you are trolling.
-
I’m open for trades fellas
-
For the next two weeks we also love him back.

Neal has a shot at being the first non-QB off the board.

You a NY/NJ guy? I grew up there.
-
That boy needs some help completing passes.
-
Same time as my other league but I will do it from my iMac this year and just have multiple tabs open.
-
He should definitely be getting cut.
-
Your example doesn't show fairness.

Can't go to the Pro Bowl if we make the Super Bowl.
-
We both acknowledge the Jags have moved him at a time where he is worth the least he can be right now. During the leadup to the draft or waiting for an injury early in the year would net you more for your asset than moving him during cut week. As far as The Golden Calf of Bristol... you dont need to pull publicity stunts in the NFL. He took legit reps away from guys who should have had a real shot to earn some looks. Nobody believed he was going to make the team. I don't believe for a second that Jacksonville reached out to every team to field offers on Minshew. No team has had a bigger fall from grace over the last few years than the Jaguars and most of the players who had left the team/been traded away have cited the higher ups and front office as the reasons they couldn't be there any longer.
-
It’s a growing concern of mine but in Darnold balls out then I’ll just try and ignore it.
-
I would agree if it weren't the Jags or the Jets. There is more value in keeping Minshew as a backup for this season and next in case Lawrence has to miss time again.
-
Minshew is clearly better than 90% of the entires leagues #2 QB. If teams knew they could have had him for a 5th or 6th round pick I am willing to bet most teams would have made that deal. I don't believe teams made offers to the Jags for Minshew other than Philly. The reasoning for this is that this is the worst possible time to trade Minshew away. During the draft or leading up to the draft would have gotten better offers. And now Lawrence has already been dinged up it would make more sense to keep it since he has another year left as well. If their official Twitter account tweeted out they were looking for a fourth for Minshew I am sure somebody would have offered at least a fifth with a condition to become a fourth. The Jaguars just do a lot of stupid things, including drafting a RB to play WR and bringing in The Golden Calf of Bristol to play TE, and doing silly things like splitting first team reps between Minshew and Lawrence all through camp only to move him now and citing the need to get Lawrence more reps as the reason they moved Gardner. They could have just kept him and gave him all second team reps instead of first. Nobody told them they had to split them. Their whole organization is a shitshow.

I think most of us agree Grier still sucks but you can't defend 71% completions to 41% on a similar amount of throws. And Grier had the bigger run too.
-
Then he might as well go with Walker and have 2 of "his guys" on the roster at the position.
-
Walker really gave Rhule no choice but to make this a call of loyalty vs performance. 41% completions is absolutely disgusting.

Teddy Bridgewater named starter over Drew Lock
Varking replied to @bonafidebanter's topic in Carolina Panthers
Teddy Bridgewater this preseason: 22/30 for 241 yards and 3 TD. Also has 1 carry for 2 yards. Drew Lock this preseason: 19/28 for 298 yards and 3 TD. Also has 4 carries for 14 yards. Teddy B is four years older than Lock exactly ( they were both born on the same day, four years apart), has been on multiple teams now and never stuck with any of them. He has been a middling to bottom half QB most of his career. He is the king of the checkdown. Teddy has been: 2014) 23rd in yards, 24th in TDs, T-14th in interceptions. 20th in QBR and 22nd in Rating. 2015) 22nd in yards, 27th in TDs, 22nd in interceptions, 17th in QBR 22nd in Rating. 2020) 17th in yards, 24th in TDs ( Minshew had more in 9 games and only 2 starters had less than Teddy), T-9th in interceptions, 17th in QBR and 22nd in Rating. He was brought in to push Lock for the job and he did. Lock responded tremendously to the competition playing some of his best ball. The Broncos cited Teddy's leadership as a major quality of his and Drew Lock referenced it multiple times during his presser about being named the #2 QB. The Broncos coaches are hoping a lesser QB with great leadership skills will save their jobs over the guy with more upside. -
1. You should be upset when you miss out on cheap opportunities to upgrade your team. 2. Minshew has put up really solid numbers in his years with the Jaguars with much lesser talent than we have here. Far better numbers than Darnold. 3. Just because the Jaguars have done something stupid doesn’t mean it was the correct move.

I believe he gets paid less than 1 million this year. It’s just a dumb move all around.

Drew Lock, again, has looked better than Teddy Bridgewater. -
That is sort of how I viewed it. Even if he was brought in here to be a backup while Sam gets his new shot... this would have made our QB room infinitely better than it currently is. Pretty sure Minshew had more touchdown passes thrown after his first start in the NFL (2) than Walker and Grier have thrown combined in all their passing attempts in the NFL. 108 attempts for our two boys and still haven't made it to 2 touchdown passes. Minshew had that in 28 attempts. On the flip side, looking at interceptions... Minshew has 11 interceptions in 797 pass attempts. Our two boys have thrown 9 already in like 106 pass attempts. You don't expect 6th rounders to produce in the NFL the way Gardner has. I mean, hes outproduced Sam as well as a former first rounder. The Eagles basically gave up nothing for a young guy who has already performed well with lesser talent around him.

I am a Florida guy so Kaiir Elam is my draft crush. My non-homer draft crush would be Derek Stingley Jr of LSU.

This is not the most this place has ever cared about a backup. Matt Moore of recent memory comes to mind as a much more talked about backup here.
