Just tried testing out myself. Other iPhone users, do you get this issue? No matter which way I try to copy the link from the iOS app, I always get an X link which refuses to embed. The only solution I’ve found that works is opening the link in Chrome/Safari and then copying the actual URL (which is a Twitter.com URL) from the URL bar. If I try to copy link from the actual tweet itself even within the mobile browser, it gives me an X link. Pretty annoying.

You're thinking of the Texans game his rookie year, he broke his foot towards the end of that game just backpedaling I believe...also the same game where CMC pulled his hammy
-
Believe it was mentioned he had gotten surgery on it so it was more than likely a torn hamstring. I'm assuming he misses both the Colts and Bears game and then has an outside shot at playing in week 11 vs the Cowboys.

23 of which came on 4 of those carries (Chubba long of 8, Young 7 yard scramble, Chubba's back to back 4 yard runs on the final drive), so the other 16 carries yielded a grand total of 10 yards. -

Chase Claypool put up a rookie year that eclipsed Marshall's entire career production. Hell, he put up a sophomore campaign that did the same and was on pace for similar production when the Bears traded for him. Obviously they didn't plan on trading the 32nd overall pick for what they got out of him. But the fact remains Claypool has shown WAY more production than Marshall ever has. I'm not sure why you're so gung-ho to do a Marshall and a 7th round pick for a 6th round pick swap deal? If we did that with the Bengals, it'd basically be akin to moving up like 15 spots in the draft order. Might as well see if he shows anything in these last 10 games if that's all the return is going to be. -

Why the fug would the Bengals trade a high day 3 pick for TMJ? Lmao when guys like Mecole Hardman and Donovan Peoples-Jones who have shown way more in the league are garnering 6th for 7th pick swaps or 6th/7th round picks 2 years out? The best we could hope for is something similar to the Robby Anderson deal last year. -

I'm betting Jaylon Johnson wants to reset the CB market. Currently the only ones making $20m+/per are Jaire Alexander and Denzel Ward. He definitely wants to beat Jaire Alexander's 4-year/$84m salary average. -

He's going to get the bag. You don't trade a mid-30s pick to then not retain the guy. Just like Burns has the Panthers over the barrel in terms of negotiating leverage, so too does Sweat with the Bears. Guaranteed he's going to get more than Rashan Gary just got. I bet $27m per year is the absolute floor for AAV for his deal, probably going to be more than that. -

Sweat as a free agent edge rusher netted a 2nd round pick. You might get a little bit more for Burns based on that precedent given he's a better rusher but worse against the run. Absolutely not worth it for the Panthers. -

I was actually excited about Hurst after week 1 given what we had endured with the poo poo platter of Thomas/Tremble. 5/41 and a TD? Not exactly Greg Olsen in his prime output, but miles better than what we had been getting since Olsen left. Little did I know that would basically constitute 40% of his overall production so far this season.

Trade Burns for Jaylon Johnson and some picks

I don't buy this argument. Burns is a one dimensional player, sure, but that one dimension is one of the most valuable dimensions to be great at. Is he a great run defender? No, subpar at best. Have you taken a look at the rest of this defense in terms of run defense? Maybe transitioning to a 3-4 and then not signing or retaining a single NT worth a damn or apparently focusing on tackling has more to do with our piss poor run defense than Burns. I'm in pay Burns camp. The only trades I'd entertain are those that bring at least two firsts, or a first and a real established offensive player back (e.g. Davante Adams). Absent that, give the man his money. In a league where Rashan Gary is worth $27m per, yes Burns is worth $30m per. -

Difference is people seem to be more than happy to show the one of those valuable guys the door. I mean this is the problem by the way - we have been in a talent drain and continue to be more than willing to show those few players that are worth keeping the door. Meanwhile we keep whiffing on picks. Eventually the entire team will be made of JAGs. -

This is a pretty stupid argument - what's our record with any starter? We might as well get rid of the entire team because they all have an abysmal record as starters. -

Sounds like they want draft capital and not players. I'd rather not give up more draft capital. I know INTs aren't everything, but Horn has one more pick in 28 less than games than Johnson. Johnson had 1 INT coming into this season in 39 career games. He's probably looking for a contract that's top 10 in AAV which is ~$18m/per. I'd rather spend more on pass rush tbh. -

We have 16 sacks on the season, 14 of which belong to players who are currently set to be FAs, 11 of which are edge/OLB (Burns, Luvu, YGM, Grugier-Hill, Chinn, Henderson; not to mention Haynes who is also a FA). Who exactly are we getting to rush the passer after this season? -
Burns draft classmate (edge rusher) inks new deal
UNCrules2187 replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Looks like the projected exclusive tag number for DE is going to be just north of $21m. Could definitely see the Panthers tagging Burns and making him play on the tag. 2 straight years of tags would probably be something like ~$44m guaranteed. That's probably the basis of a contract extension. -
