Big swing there. Chargers should've had a TD on the opening kickoff but instead they turn it over on downs, lose their TE to injury, and then give up a TD to the Chiefs. Ouch.

What is Tepper seeing that nobody else here sees?
LinvilleGorge replied to mc52beast's topic in Carolina Panthers
Tepper eating the remaining $50M is the financial equivalent of me attending a Panthers game with decent seats and having a couple of beers in the stadium. Not exactly something he's going to feel a hit from. -

LinvilleGorge replied to mc52beast's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Tepper cares, I just think he's clueless. I hope he's willing to eat crow and admit his mistake. Then I hope he hires consultants to help him hire the next guy so he doesn't get sold by a high school coach rah rah plan. -
Classic fencing response. https://www.healthline.com/health/fencing-response#diagnosis That was a bad knockout.

Damn good match up. Winner takes the lead in the division. Chargers opened the game with a great kickoff return well past the 50. It didn't go for a TD only because the returner tripped over his own feet. Turf monstered. But, the Charger ultimately turn it over on downs inside the 10 after the TE drops one in the endzone on 4th down due to brutally KO'ing himself by banging his head off the turf. Out cold. Stiff.

It might be what he's NOT seeing. Everyone else is seeing that he's made a colossal mistake. -
Le sigh...

I've only dreamed of the Panthers once. The night before we drafted Brayvion Roy in the 6th round I dreamed that we drafted Brayvion Roy in the 6th round. Very rarely I will have very vivid dreams about random trivial future events and they almost always end up being true. I'd love to ask Brayvion exactly what Rhule said to him when he called him to let him know he was drafting him to gauge the reality of my dream.

So, We Move On From Rhule, Do we try and keep Snow?
LinvilleGorge replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
A new HC is probably going to want his own DC and I think Rhule and Snow are basically a joined at the hip package deal anyway. Snow is the only DC Rhule has ever had. -
Constantly lying your ass off is "top notch character"?
-
I hope Rhule is going to Tepper and telling him they would've won the game without Cam's costly turnovers. Surely Tepper would be able to see through such thick layers of bullshit and lack of leadership.
-
Dude makes endless excuses for "his guys" and throws everyone else under the bus. I've never despised a coach so much at a personal level. I never felt like this about Fox or Rivera. It was time to move on from those guys as coaches, but I never despised them as people. I do not like Matt Rhule from what I can tell on the outside looking in.
-
I honestly don't know and given Cam's history is be surprised if he ever threw Rhule under the bus even if he despises him and/or doesn't have much respect for him. I do think that Cam was probably forced on Rhule but Tepper who never really wanted Cam to begin with but desperate tikes call for desperate measures.

I just don't care. Worrying about this specific issue feels like complaining about a squeaky door hinge in a house that's literally burning to the ground.

Well, we've reached that point. Again.

He's a liability against the pass. He's good against the run and that racks up tackle numbers and Pro Bowl votes. Given all the trading of draft picks for players I'm not mad. We had to do SOMETHING to get some draft capital back. How many wins do we have with Perryman on the roster? My guess is 5, so who cares?
-
He's a really good receiver who seems to have regressed like everyone else on this roster. He's probably struggling to mentally stay engaged. We've sucked and had a poor QB situation his entire career. Not exactly a great situation for a WR.

Mike Florio & Rich Eisen discuss Rhule & Tepper
LinvilleGorge replied to BlitzMonster's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's all good my man. I was wrong about you. I said you'd disappear when Sam flopped and you didn't. -
When the Panthers are trailing in the 4th under Rhule

That culture though! Man, that culture... -
Hasson Reddick… what are you going to offer him?
LinvilleGorge replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Depends on the next staff. A pretty good contract if we're running a 3-4. A sincere thanks and best of luck if we're running a 4-3 and I'll take my comp pick next year. -
Mike Florio & Rich Eisen discuss Rhule & Tepper
LinvilleGorge replied to BlitzMonster's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's just bad. He has talent but he sticks on his first read too long and then just plain panics if he doesn't come open after staring him down for three seconds. -
The Saints were also playing ball boys and fans out of the stands when we faced them.

1. Potential franchise QB 2. Potential franchise LT 3. TRADE DOWN I'd still field calls if #1 isn't an option.

Mike Florio & Rich Eisen discuss Rhule & Tepper
LinvilleGorge replied to BlitzMonster's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's trash. This staff puts WAY too much stock into what a guy's draft status was. Statistically, Darnold has probably been the worst QB in the NFL during his short career. Sadly, I was proven correct on both Teddy and Darnold. They are what I thought they were. Teddy is a backup. Darnold isn't NFL roster caliber. -
I take Rhule's incompetence personally.
