That too. Passing on Fields to then draft Willis would be pretty damn baffling. Similar physical talent prospects but Fields lacks the size concerns and was way more proven at the college level.

The biggest thing that scares me about Willis (outside of his rawness and my concerns about our coaching staff not being able to properly develop him) is tht his presence probably almost gives Rhule a 4th year. You pretty much know you're drafting Willis not for next year but for the future. Playing him as a rookie probably isn't going to go well.

With the money getting thrown around at the P5 college level the NFL is about to become a farm league for college coaches.

Brady had the second fastest average time to throw in the league (behind only Big Ben). I seriously doubt a rookie is going to come anywhere close to replicating that.

The problem with relying on guys like Brady or Manning for comps is that you're counting on a guy to have a Brady or Manning level football mind. Good luck with that.

I could definitely see him landing a similar gig to what he had this year. Basically a steadying force to keep the seat warm for a young guy a team is developing. Jimmy has a rude awakening coming if he thinks he's going to walk into the locker room of a good team and have them plan to build around him. He's a stop gap/veteran mentor type of QB. Probably a damn good one. Very reminiscent of former Boner Alex Smith in that regard.

Considering some of the reports I read on Pickett and Ridder today, they might want to. But damn, if Pickett dropped out that combined with being shook by a measuring tape might cause some teams to just straight up write him off.

Snow is the best of the bunch but nowhere near good enough to endure more Rhule to keep him.

I have no idea what's gonna happen but I can't shake the thought that it's pretty damn significant that Harbaugh is interviewing for a job to potentially leave Michigan on national signing day. Just has the feel of a meeting to iron out final details IMO, but we'll see. Even if he does, prepare to be disappointed when Rhule is shot down as a potential candidate pretty damn quickly. Not just due to his abysmal failure here and his arguably even more abysmal record vs. ranked teams during his college coaching stints, but because I also can't see Michigan going for another coach who almost certainly has another NFL shot dancing in his head if things go well for him. I mean, they'd be getting spurned by an alum. That would sting. I really think they'll be looking for someone who is focused on the college game. Everyone wants a Dabo Swinney.

The reports I've seen were less than glowing of the National team QBs who practiced today (Pickett, Ridder, and Strong).

Someone is gonna take a shot on Willis' raw talent. Yeah, I'm paying a lot more attention to the prospect he didn't name. A GM isn't gonna go around talking about the guy he actually wants.

Interesting that there's one top QB prospect that he specifically DIDN'T mention...

My guess (which has basically been confirmed by Rhule) is that Fitts has input but the ultimate decision is Rhule's to make.
