  1. Unless it most certainly directly effects us (as in wildcard race or playoff seeding/bye week, draft position, etc), fug divisional rivals first and foremost always.
  2. He missed one game over the past two seasons and four games over the past three. Not seeing this massive injury proneness.
  3. Not sure why the glee over Samuel having a minor injury. I wish him well. Would've liked to have kept him but we had bigger priorities and it didn't make sense to give our 4th offensive option big money.
  4. Yep. Unfortunately, the narrative that it was all his poor protection, etc. just doesn't hold up. Maybe it was terrible coaching and development, but a lot of his bad plays were from a clean pocket and just terrible throws or terrible decisions or both.
  5. If being a captain makes you play like Teddy then I certainly hope Sam isn't a captain.
  6. Corral, Ridder, Willis, etc. are among some guys who could really jump up the board if they play well this year.
  7. I honestly had no idea that anyone still watched ESPN for anything other than live sports. Back in college, my television was always on in the background 90% of the time on ESPN. SportsCenter was life. A play making the top 10 was like winning an Emmy. Does SC even exist anymore? YouTube and gifs basically just killed it for me.
  8. NFL talent evaluators aren't gonna love that game from Howell. Particularly that last pick. But they're going to see some special throws too. They're gonna see numerous dropped passes. They're going to see that only one WR could create separation and actually catch a ball. They're going to see that UNC might as well have been playing a 3rd OT rather than they're TE because he was utterly useless as a recoecer. They're gonna see the 1st INT that was a perfectly thrown ball caught by a receiver who let a DB simply take it from him. They're gonna see that the second INT was a tipped pass at the LOS. The stat sheet looks a lot worse than the actual performance did if you were just looking to evaluate the QB as a prospect. That's what a lot of people got caught up in with Wilson's game vs. Coastal too. They were watching a football game instead of evaluating the prospect. You can't judge the prospect by the outcome of the play, just by what he did with the opportunity given on that play or the opportunity he outright created out of nothing.
  9. A lot of people weren't sold on Wilson after that Coastal Carolina game either. When your OL utterly doesn't show up you're probably not gonna look good.
  10. Howell and Rattler should be the top two. After that, who knows? I don't think it's gonna be anywhere near as strong overall as last year's class.
  11. Hopefully. If we try the mid-level vet option twice with no success, I sure hope we'd go another route the third time.
  12. I loved Wilson as a prospect but I don't think he's positioned to shine against us. They have OL issues too and we should have a helluva pass rush. He doesn't have near the offensive weapons to work with that we do either. If the game is close, I think he'll be okay. If they're down and he's forced to throw a lot I think it could get ugly for his debut.
  13. I really hope he isn't the primary returner, but I'm not opposed to putting our best YAC guys out there in key situations.
  14. I'm convinced most of this fanbase didn't watch Brady's offense at LSU as implemented by Joe Burrow and company.
  15. I really don't care who's voted captains. That's a lockerroom thing.
  16. Moving on from Teddy after only one season with significant dead cap tied up in him gives me hope we won't drag our feet if Sam isn't the answer. The one big question I have is just how much of a role Teddy throwing the staff under the bus for his missing of a wide open DJ in the endzone played in that decision because it certainly seemed like there was a stark change in attitude from the franchise toward Teddy after that. Would Teddy have possibly gotten a second year without that gaffe? I honestly have no idea but I have an inkling that it would have at least been a topic of discussion rather than a done deal.
  17. Not shopping for a QB again next year. Him playing well enough to at least give us hope he can be the answer. I honestly don't see it happening.
  18. I doubt it. I just think he wants to control the local media message. Seems like the Panthers go to any and all lengths to restrict media access as much as they can while pushing panthers.com content.
  19. While we're taking out the trash... Folks, if your only purpose for posting here is to parrot COVID denial you're not gonna last long. Admittedly, we have given a longer leash to longtime posters who otherwise contribute but the leash is shortening.
  20. When your mind is already made up and you're desperately searching for straws, everything starts to look like a straw.
