  1. Oh, for sure. But the same was true for Lawrence. The same is true for every QB coming out of a top tier program.
  2. Had to have. He must have interviewed terribly. Because on the field, on the stat sheet, in the drills... checked every box.
  3. The NFL tends to overthink a lot of stuff. I said it back then that Justin Fields has everything a normal #1 overall pick has. He checked every box. Put him in last year's draft and the Jags put that #1 overall pick on the auction block and Fields goes #1 overall to the highest bidder.
  4. I have this Houston bowl game on in the background while I get poo done around the house and I'm not exaggerating when I say there might be a few dozen fans in attendance. They just showed a wide shot of the stands and now I know why it seemed like they had been avoiding doing that. The sea of aluminum was blinding.
  5. Of course it is. But it's still by far your best bet of finding a franchise QB. They almost never hit free agency unless there are significant injury concerns. Trading for them is still a crap shoot, just ask the Denver Broncos. At least if you're drafting them you're not taking a salary cap beating.
  6. Ouch. I wanted Field too. I honestly didn't think he'd be there. When he was it was an absolutely no brainer pick. Horn looks like he's going to be a very good CB for a long time but it won't matter until we solve the QB problem.
  7. Yeah, Corral looked awful in preseason. Yeah, Rhule and company likely did a horrible job developing him. We'll have to see how he looks next year but we're crazy if we make any draft or roster decisions based on Matt Corral. If we think a franchise QB is available we need to go get him. If Corral balls out, awesome. If he's a total flop, oh well. Make the roster moves so that either way or anything in between we've prepared for.
  8. There's very well a connection there. I can't imagine he's very coachable or does much if any self reflection about his play and how to improve it. Darnold has the same mental problem in that his brain just doesn't function like a QB. But he's developing into a decent game manager and very well may end up having a long career as a backup because he's willing to be that game manager and he has a good attitude and he's a good guy in the locker room. He's becoming everything you want in a vet backup. Now do Zach Wilson...
  9. He definitely has some strange movements and mannerisms and sounds like Kermit the Frog, but damn the dude can flat out play.
  10. Really? I've always thought Mahomes looks small out there. Doesn't matter. Dude's a straight baller.
  11. Wilson is a prime example that you can't fix what's between the ears. The guy has legit top tier physical talent but he doesn't have a QB's mind. You can't fix it.
  12. Yep. Whiffing on a 1st round pick sucks but it's not the end of the world. Doubling down on a mistake just continues to set you back further. Kinda like not firing Matt Rhule at the conclusion of last season.
  13. Yeah, neither has a QB. But the Giants look to have a legit coach now and might just be a QB away from making some real noise. Then again "just a QB away" is still a long way away given it's the hardest roster piece to find. Still, they look to have something to work with as an organization.
  14. Well, that was fun while it lasted. At least the Jets finally did SOMETHING on offense.
  15. You know you suck when they yank you for this wish.com The Golden Calf of Bristol dude.
  16. FWIW, the Jets should give the fans what they want. I mean damn, has anyone NOT seen enough of Zach Wilson in a Jets jersey?
  17. After booing their asses off all night long, now the fans are chanting "WE WANT FLACCO!" Brutal.
  18. You can just tell no one on the team likes him. Everything with the offense is disjointed with him out there. Lots of procedural penalties. They know this dude gives them no chance AND they can't stand the prick. Tough situation.
  19. It was time for both him and the Panthers to move on but I have no dislike for Ron Rivera as a person.
  20. If you're the Jets and you actually want to make the playoffs, you need to go to Flacco. Zach Wilson is done. Broken. Some team (hopefully not fuging us) will take a shot at rehabbing him, but I won't be surprised if he's not out of the league shortly. Darnold sucks but he's a good guy with a good attitude and is likely we'll liked in the locker room. He's a good backup candidate. I don't see dick headed Wilson as a good backup candidate and he sure as hell isn't a starter, so... yeah.
  21. One of the most head scratching re-signings we've ever made. He's a vet min, fighting for a roster spot type of guy. We paid him like a solid starter.
  22. I don't know, kinda seems like business as usual for the Jets. And yes, I say this with FULL knowledge that I'm in no place at all as a Panthers fan to talk poo about a team flailing at QB.
  23. There's just no sugarcoating it, Zach Wilson is trash. I really liked him as a prospect but he just doesn't have it. He's Darnold 2.0 except instead of nice guy Sam he seems like a dickhead.
  24. Honestly, I'm just too lazy to clean the thread up so fug it.
