  1. It's going to take years to dig ourselves out of this Rhule hole and that's assuming Tepper actually makes a smart hire post-Rhule which is an assumption based on absolutely blind hope.
  2. It wouldn't be surprising at all. Most teams go all in to build around a young franchise QB once they land one.
  3. Not always true. Some companies really do suck in terms of pay, benefits, etc. Those companies usually also tend to have shitty bosses and the few good ones are desperately looking for something else. Then the company trots out that line to blame their people for not being able to retain workers because that's what bad places to work do - they find someone else to blame. Just like Matt Rhule.
  4. Folks with a future GTFO while the gettin's good while over the hill folks rush in for one last paycheck before hitting the links.
  5. It's almost like everyone knows Rhule should've already been fired. Everyone that is except for David Tepper.
  6. Same. Because if it's truly the case and Rhule wants to trade away the future of the franchise on some half-witted quick turnaround scheme, well we're good and truly fuged. Even if Rhule gets fired we'll be hamstrung in our pursuit of a new coach because our roster building capital is going to be gutted.
  7. Looks like a deer in headlights. He should fit right in.
  8. I think this is highly likely still the full on Matt Rhule show and will be until Tepper eventually sacks up and fires him. When that happens, Fitterer should follow him out the door. I honestly don't want any part in a "GM" willing to put his reputation on the line for a job that's in essence in title only while trying to baby sit a college coach with final say on everything. Maybe he thought he could have more influence over Rhule once he was in the building? Maybe he assumed Rhule would be more willing to listen to someone with real NFL experience. Either way, he was wrong and he can GTFO too as far as I'm concerned.
  9. I think everyone already knew that. I think some folks were just holding out hope that after two seasons of colossal failure that maybe that dynamic had been shifted somewhat. I mean, I'm not surprised that it hasn't but there was definitely some cause for hope that maybe it had. Tepper really is still all in on Matt Rhule. This would be like Tepper putting all of his hedgefund into a tanking penny stock with awful financials and no clear pathway towards financial success. How long do you think his investors would've stuck with him in that scenario? Well, we're the "investors" in this scenario and Tepper has no track record of success to lean on in the football world. In the football word, he's basically a Redditor in his mom's basement who still has his entire life savings tied up in GameStop stock.
  10. Depending on how long it's been since ole Matty got laid, Mrs. Rhule likely has final say on whatever she wants.
  11. And it's important to note Chip Kelly didn't completely go off the rails until he wrestled full control away from whoever the GM was at the time, I can't remember who.
  12. There are very few HCs with final roster say in the league and most of those guys earned it through years of demonstrated success. Then there's Matt Rhule.
  13. Bingo. I will honestly be surprised if Rhule doesn't truly fug us over this offseason trading future assets in a desperately reckless attempt to win now.
  14. You had an offer from the Packers. No, you didn't return Matt Rhule's phone calls.
  15. If we were going for a non-premium vet I wanted to either sign Trubisky or trade for Minshew. Both of those options were far better than Darnold, both for the player we would've been getting and the price we would've been having to pay. I just don't think Trubisky would've signed with us. I really think he was looking to land somewhere where he could just breathe and regroup in a stable environment before trying to make a run at competing for another starting gig.
  16. I had Tyler Hansbrough do one for my dad's birthday. He did an awesome job.
  17. The Steelers are not trading up to #6 for Kenny fuging Pickett.
  18. This would be about the worst case scenario for Willis. He has the talent but if he gets drafted by us his odds of busting go through the roof.
  19. He's eligible for an extension and the Cardinals probably want to wait.
  20. I've always been on the Howell train but I've always said I basically want him pretty much anywhere but here. We're a dumpster fire and I'd rather him go to a better more stable organization... which is pretty much anywhere but here and Houston to be honest.
  21. This really feels like a situation where the NFL stepped in and told the Texans something to the effect of... "Look, we all know you want to hire McCown but given this Flores situation you CANNOT hire a pasty white dude whose only coaching experience is as an assistant at the HS level. That is going to look incredibly bad and honestly it's just a really fuging dumb thing to do period. We all know you're gonna fug this up anyway, so for the love of god can you at least hire a minority candidate? Lovie isn't a great coach, but dammit he's not going to be a complete dumpster fire and y'all are getting to the point of being an absolute embarrassment to the league."
  22. We've consistently made the dumbest possible QB decisions and consistently overvalued former Matt Rhule college recruits since Rhule was hired. Pickett at #6 is so on brand for Rhule's Panthers that it feels inevitable.
