No disagreement there. Michigan, Notre Dame, and Texas are probably the three biggest delusional fanbases in college football. They all think they're top 5 programs. Going to good schools as an athlete is very different than gaining admission as a regular student. The Panthers have had two legitimately good QBs in their entire history. We got absurdly lucky with a low level free agent on the 1st one and we drafted the second one #1 overall. Marquee QBs with the ability to control their own destiny aren't coming to Carolina.

We're Panthers fans. No need to look at QBs in the draft. That's not what we do. We need to be analyzing the veteran QBs who will be available on clearance aisle and in the scratch and dent section of the local thrift store. That's where we shop for our QBs. OL play has been largely terrible for a decade or more. It just seems like there aren't as many talented OL anymore and the more open, spread type formations leave the OL more exposed. I get it, playing OL isn't sexy. If you're a jumbo athlete the marquee roles are on defense. But... if you play good they pay good. If I had a family member who was a jumbo athlete I'd be recommending they strongly consider playing OL.

Yeah, spending the #3 overall pick by itself would be a bit head scratching for that. But to trade your entire franchise future? Damn.
