  1. Congrats @NAS and others. This is what you asked for.
  2. Yeah, I'm not super optimistic right now but that's a wholly unreasonably pessimistic take.
  3. I tried to move this thread to the lounge where it would be away from the prying eyes of the trolls and you complained about that. You don't want the trolls to be ignored. You want this poo show. Enjoy it. You asked for it.
  4. I hope Rhule is the answer. I hope Darnold is the answer. But I definitely have my doubts. Considerably more about the latter than the former.
  5. I think if you can't get excited about that season you're never gonna get excited.
  6. This place will be the hottest mess it's ever been if we lose this game. The sky will fall through the floor.
  7. Say what? You didn't feel good in 2015 when we were headed to the Super Bowl with a young MVP QB and a great defense? This is just a bizarre comment.
  8. I would rather have traded what we did for Darnold than what they did for Wentz. Wentz looks shot. Darnold looks mentally frazzled. You can't fix shot. Maybe we can and maybe we can't fix frazzled but I'd rather have Darnold at his age, trade compensation, and financial commitment than Wentz at his age, trade compensation, and financial commitment. No doubt about it. If they're both mistakes, our mistake stings a lot less.
  9. Right now, Tom Brady is way ahead in the "was it more Belichick or was it more Brady" debate. His lead would be probably be insurmountable if he puts together another good season without Bill and Bill flounders again.
  10. If we lose to the Jets this Sunday... oh wee mayne. This fanbase has been through some rough times before, but that might hit a new overall morale bottom.
  11. Honestly, I think this will be a big focus of the next set of rule tweaks. OL play is down. Partly because all the jumbo athletes want to play defense and partly because today's spread offenses put more pressure on the OL and expose them a lot more to working in space. QBs are the highest paid position in the NFL by a pretty wide margin. Owners hate seeing their QBs take hits and fans hate to see their QBs get hurt. I think we'll see holding on the OL either get deemphasized or get the letter of the rule outright changed to give the OL an advantage. Just a hunch.
  12. This. We've definitely seen a trend over the past decade or so toward an increasing value in overall mobility. If you want to throw the ball constantly with as many receivers as possible out running routes, you better have a QB who can move around a little bit or a damn bot like Brady who can surgically pick apart your defense in an instant. Well, there's only one Brady so everyone else is hedging toward mobility.
  13. No one knocked pocket statues back in the 80s and 90s. It's absolutely a knock on a QB prospect these days.
  14. We haven't seen a shift toward "running" QBs, but we have seen a pretty dramatic shift in the value of mobility in QBs.
  15. It might be a shorter list of the guys the Jets have who are actually available to play. Tough to remember a team getting hit this hard this early.
  16. Great PR move. At the end of the day, they know virtually no one will bother.
  17. Think about what a guy like Patrick Peterson could've done at CB back in the 70s and 80s when DBs could maul WRs. You basically have a small LB who moves like a CB and he can just manhandle the poo out of your WRs. Good luck with that.
  18. By popular demand of the thread participants, this is back in the Panthers forum. We all know what comes next, but what the people want the people get.
  19. I don't think the defenses are worse, I just think they're significantly handicapped by today's rules vs. the rules of years past.
  20. The casual fan wants to watch high flying, high scoring games. The NFL isn't dumb. They do market research. They know this. They see which games draw the biggest ratings and generate the most buzz. As long as the casual fan wants high flying, high scoring games the NFL will continue to tweak the rules to encourage that style of football. It is what it is.
  21. Hey, if you guys want it back over there I'll do it. But don't report any posts and don't complain when it inevitably turns turns into a poo show. Whatya say? Yay or nay?
  22. Feel whatever you want. I just get tired of watching the trolls berate Cam but evidently y'all love it. Weird, but hey... whatever.
  23. That's the thing, it's his website. Funny how y'all want this left in the main forum where you absolutely know it would soon turn into an utter poo show and flame war that would then have y'all begging for the mods to clean this place up. Moving it here actually gives it a chance to remain a productive conversation without the inevitable troll fest which was honestly my primary reason for moving it. But whiners gonna whine.
