  1. A 2nd year mid-round rookie TE failed to make a contested catch against one of the NFL's best DBs who ahad the 2nd in the NFL in broken up passes last season. Who would've think it. LOL
  2. Agreed. Probably looking for a DPI but even then, you're putting all your eggs on the basket of the refs calling the penalty you think they're calling.
  3. For all the talk about Bryce looking better that looked like the vintage Bryce most Panthers fans were ready to move on from.
  4. Okay, Bryce clearly saw the DL tackle the OL and the flag flying before he threw that. Thank god, because yikes...

  6. I didn't want UNC to hire Belichick simply because it's the exact same thing we just had to get rid of - an old, retired coach getting off the couch to hopefully act as a bridge to the next generation of UNC football. In the perfect world, Mack would've retired as Drake Maye was going into his final season giving UNC a great opportunity to go out and land a good coach. But the dinosaur wanted to hang on as dinosaurs tend to do. I had a lot of doubts about Belichick as a college coach but the recruiting so far is alleviating most of those. I just had a hard time wrapping my mind around how a guy was going to go from being in a position to tell All Pros that it's his way or the highway to kissing HS kids' asses. That seems like a hard switch to flip. But it seems like they've essentially built a recruiting structure where others are handling the bulk of the process and Bill just shows up wearing six SB rings and says "Are we gonna do this or not?" Basically still in the same "we'll see mindset" but it's going better than I expected so far. The big question to me though is still "what's next?" Is it Bill's kid? That's probably the Belichick plan. Is it UNC's plan? No clue. Gonna be a wild ride one way or the other. LOL
  7. The question mark is health. We're already dealing with injury issues on the OL. Hopefully that doesn't linger.
  8. It won't be shocking if we have to do that again this year at LB.
  9. Winston or Mayfield would easily be the best QB Pittman has ever had. Winston can put up the numbers his issue is turnovers. Pittman has been playing with trash. I'm not saying the guy is elite. I'm just saying I'd like to see what he could do with a legit starting caliber QB.
  10. I don't think anyone is freaking out about it. LOL
  11. He sucks, but yeah he's gonna be QB2 this year.
  12. There won't be a QB3 on the roster. We might have one on the PS.
  13. I'd honestly take PJ at vet minimum over Dalton at $8M simply because I don't expect to win anything with either on the field.
  14. Career means nothing. Who are you right now? That's all that matters. Lord knows the Panthers have plenty of history giving guys career achievement contracts.
  15. I don't think it's a huge need either honestly. Backup QB really only matters for contenders. Which is exactly why I'd just like to clear up the cap space. I'd be fine with paying Dalton if he wasn't starting to look like straight trash but I mean... it is what it is. At this point I'd rather have the cap space.
  16. And that list is going to include guys like Kirk Cousins who were paid to be starters, they're not backups by design the plan just didn't work out.
  17. I'd be good with freeing up some of that cap space. Dalton is being paid like a top tier backup and I think he was when we initially signed him but it sure looks like Father Time has caught him and is really giving him the business down there these days.
  18. Yeah, Rozeboom is alright if he's your worst LB out there but if you're counting on him being the best... oh wee mayne
  19. Hopefully the rest of the league is as high on our fringe of the roster WRs as we seem to be and hopefully there's a team out there with a need at WR and a similar position with their LBs and we can work out a swap. I'm not saying we're getting a major impact player out of it but basically get a guy who was maybe going to snag a spot on a deep roster or at least essentially skip to the very front of the line on the waiver wire giving up a player that we may have end up having to cut anyway.
  20. On the one hand, I get it. On the other hand, you gotta find someone who can do that while also holding their own after the ball is snapped. Nick Scott may be smart and he may really help get others in the right place pre-snap but he instantly becomes a liability as soon as the ball is snapped and it's go time.
  21. The NFL #1 WR has been a mythical beast for years on here. You're pretty much a #2 at best unless you're a future HOFer.
  22. Is Pittman a disappointment or is it that the Colts have had 12 starting QBs during his five years, none of them good? Despite that he's averaging about a 1000 yards per season over the past four years. Give the guy a QB and he might actually be something.
  23. Yeah, there's just no justification for keeping him on the roster. No more Karl Hanktons taking up a roster spot basically exclusively for special teams. If you're not kicking or long snapping you need to be able to plausibly contribute somewhere outside of special teams.
