All you had to do was beat a 3-10 team ONCE
LinvilleGorge replied to RumHam's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is just the law of averages working out. We're not a very good team that got lucky and caught two playoff bound teams in poor weather conditions winning the turnover battle in those games and ultimately ending up with two unlikely wins. That gets balanced out by taking two bad unlikely losses. -
Going for it instead of leading by two scores in the 4th
LinvilleGorge replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wasn't it gonna be a near 60 yard attempt? I'm sure the analytics say to go for it on 4th and 1 in that scenario but the analytics probably wouldn't be accounting for the inability to run a QB sneak. -
Their health insurance is only seasonal. If the union is so powerful they should be able to use their leverage to negotiate a compensation package that wouldn't have the refs continuing to work their lawyer day jobs.

Pretty much. Making the playoffs for the first time in forever would be fun and with the Bucs in freefall it's still very possible. But I also realize that whoever wins this shitty division is probably just gonna be a doormat for a legit playoff team in the first round of the playoffs. We've only beaten two likely playoff teams and we had the good fortune of facing both of them in poor weather conditions limiting the effectiveness of their more potent offenses. It's been nice to have games in late November and December that are actually relevant and the two best rookie QBs this season being drafted in the late 1st and early 2nd round give me a grain of hope that maybe we could luck into the same.

Say what? They can't even get treated as full time employees. LOL

This Bryce Guy (General BY Discussion)
LinvilleGorge replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
And Bryce is just blameless for his mediocre at best performance? Plenty of criticism for the coaching staff, Jaycee Horn, etc. But it's lil Bryce that people feel compelled to defend. His numbers vs. Shough's are what they are. Their QB was considerably better than ours and most of the time that happens the team on the plus side of that wins. We've just gotten cocky about being able to win in spite of Bryce this year. This is the way it usually goes. -
Probably 25 other NFL QBs.

Our only hope is that the Bucs are in freefall right now. They've completely collapsed. But let's be honest, whoever draws the NFC South champ in the 1st round of the playoffs is gonna be very happy.

Yeah, we know our QB can't run a QB sneak but other teams have non-QBs run that play. The Steelers with geriatric Rodgers come to mind. -

He got outplayed by a rookie 2nd rounder making his 6th NFL start and throwing for under 200 yards and barely over 60%. I get that there's a big Bryce curve, but it can't cover up for all that. -

Are you serious? Most of Bryce's completions were to guys that were wide ass open. Not sure if we were scheming it up or the Saints' coverage was just ass, but there was no one near our receivers on most of the completions. Shough hit multiple guys in stride 10+ yards down the field who weren't that open. Those are the throws Bryce really struggles to make and that's what handcuffs our offense. -

That's the "Bryce curve" grading scale. LOL Any other QB that throws for under 200 yards, barely over 60% completion rate, and under 7ypa gets blamed immediately for the loss. Especially when the other QB throws for over 250 yards, 75% completion percentage, and almost 8ypa. The difference today was that their QB moved the ball through the air with ease and ours struggled to do so. It's just that since ours has struggled so much worse than this in the past it's seen as a "good game". Again, the "Bryce curve". -

He does. I'd trade Bryce for him without hesitation but the Saints wouldn't do it nor should they. -

Let's be honest. He made 3-4 throws today that would've been in Bryce's top 10 for the season. And he's a 2nd round rookie. -

You still don't realize that it's Bryce that handcuffs this offense. He's why the opposing D is keying so hard against the run and sitting on the short stuff. -

He's just not good enough. We need everything else to go perfect to win with Bryce. He got outplayed today by a 2nd round rookie. That was the biggest difference in the game today. Their QB was better than ours. Throwing at a 63% clip with a 6.8ypa average just isn't getting it done. Especially when the opponent throws at a 75% clip with an 8.5ypa average. -

We just got vet moved by a rookie QB with a flop job. LOL -
Mahomes torn ACL confirmed. The best QB in the game and one of the best defenders in the game in Parsons likely popped ACLs this afternoon. Brutal for the game.

Oof. Game on the line. Season on the line. And your huge money #1 CB gets roasted.
