  1. I had no idea I was tuning into The Joe Lunardi show. This basketball game in the background is distracting.
  2. There zero chance Hubert gets fired after going to the title game last year but I'm honestly not certain that he shouldn't be. No one is the slightest bit improved. There's still zero depth development and no seeming grasp of how to manage rotations. No semblance of offensive system. Hubert has been recruiting his ass off so let's see what he can do with "his guys". Or let's hope he pulls a Matt Doherty and recruits the next guy's first championship team.
  3. I don't know why ESPN is convinced people care as much about their coverage as they do about the actual game. They always try to do this split screen poo with one of their talking heads. We just want to watch this game. I'd watch it on CBS or ABC or NBC or YouTube or whatever.
  4. This is actually one of the few games where we've actually looked to try to get out into transition. Usually we take these same bad shots in normal half court sets.
  5. I'm immune to this. Two thirds of the shots we take are bad.
  6. It's true. The dude could like crazy. They finally called that MMA looking foul there. LOL! He honestly should've already fouled out.
  7. Nance is terrible. It's both infuriating and hilarious watching this fat fug for state get away with murder.
  8. I posted in jest but I actually think we're in a good spot to make an aggressive move if we think the right guy is available. We have good young talent at most of the premium positions outside of QB. Moore at WR, Moton and Icky at OT, Burns at EDGE rusher, Brown at DT, Horn at CB.
  9. I just don't think he had any actual big picture vision. He just focused on "winning" each individual dick measuring contest.
  10. Yeah, I supported Gettleman while he was here but that Norman fiasco soured me big time. The further we were removed from Gettleman and watching him do the same things in NY forced me to admit that firing him was the right call even if it was for all the wrong reasons. Those wrong reasons being bringing Hurney back to ink career achievement contracts for JR's favorite aging vets. It's ironic that Gettleman got himself fired for losing a dick measuring contest where he was actually absolutely right.
  11. I'm more confident that he can make a trade that makes sense than Hurney. Oh, Hurney could make it happen but he could also cripple us in the process. I imagine Gettleman was probably really hard to deal with. Everything with that guy is a dick measuring contest. He has to feel like he's winning bigly every time. That's highly unlikely to happen when you're looking at trading into the top 5 of the draft.
  12. I hope it is. I mean, for years our picks were tipped so hard that we all pretty much knew who the pick was going to be before it was even announced. We were bad poker players.
  13. I think we'll TRY but that doesn't mean we'll succeed. A team has to be willing to come off of that pick and you have to have the most appealing trade offer. It's not slam dunk even if you try really hard. Not sure if I buy into this "not being one player away" mentality. Put Mahomes or Allen or Burrow or Herbert on this team. Now what are your expectations?
  14. It doesn't seem like we have much interest at top market value. I mean, if we like several QBs in the draft then the draft would be the smart move.
  15. Yeah, Trubisky definitely landed in a really shitty spot. I honestly don't know if he was ever going to be legit though. To ultimately make it as an NFL QB you have to walk that fine line between confident and cocky. You have to be confident nearly to the point of delusion but not allow it to teeter into cockiness where you don't put in the necessary work. I don't know that Trubisky ever had that. I want to see how Drake Maye plays next year. I'm not 100% sold that he has it either but his older brother Luke having it gives me hope that he does. That mentality I spoke of above is a big part of why I was so high on Sam Howell. He walks that confident/cocky line perfectly. Never too high, never too low, never gets frustrated or blames teammates, he just focuses on the things he can control and has utmost confidence in himself to deliver in those things. In the NFL things are going to go badly sometimes. You're gonna throw picks. You're going to fail to deliver in the clutch. You're going to lose winnable games. You're going to have some games where it feels like you can't do anything right. How do you bounce back from those things? That goes a long way toward separating the real deals from the pretenders.
  16. He's honestly an anomaly. I mean, a lot of the things that make him who he is are things you'd never coach a QB to do. Hell, a lot of them are things you'd specifically coach a QB NOT to do. He's Favre without the INTs. You're not supposed to be able to have the best of both worlds.
  17. Are you illiterate? I literally said the exact opposite. LOL!
  18. I'm glad he said this "Most recently, Zach Wilson's tape from BYU shared traits with that of Mahomes..." Because the whole time I was reading that's article I was thinking "Okay, now do Zach Wilson." LOL! Sooooo much of the QB position is between the ears. It's why it's such a tough evaluation. All the physical talent in the world just doesn't matter if you don't have the right mental makeup.
  19. We know. He had warts too. Didn't win in college. Turnover prone. Played in a gimmicky system that exaggerated stats. Don't try to pretend in hindsight like he was anything close to a perfect QB prospect.
  20. He's gonna sink or swim with this upcoming QB move.
  21. If you want to lose all this fanbase optimism momentum that hiring this staff has created, then stick with Sam Darnold with no legit competition. I just don't see any chance it happens. What happens if you're back at #9 next year? Rumblings that this much hyped staff is a flop. Consternation that we aren't anywhere close to being able to land a Drake Maye or Caleb Williams. Here's the reality. #9 is always too low to nab the mythological "can't miss QB prospect". You can absolutely land franchise QBs with a borderline top 10 pick but it's gonna be a prospect with warts. Will the warts end up mattering or not?
  22. Yep. It does feel nice to actually have a staff that looks worthy of trusting to make these evaluations though. If Levis turns out to be their guy I'll just hope that they're right and I'm wrong and root like hell for the guy.
  23. Appropriate post in a thread where the title starts off "I made a stupid mistake..." LOL!
  24. Here we are ready to take on the rest of the league following this trade.
