He can be a good QB but I think his attitude is toxic and holding him back both on and off the field. Just too much smoke for there not to be some fire.

Meanwhile, Robby trying to catch a football Except that guy seems to actually give a fug that he's screwing up. Maybe his snapper was terrible, nevermind that the ball hit him right in the hands. It was kinda wobbly and didn't have the right spin on it. Totally not his fault. *Robby logic*

I still think trading for Jimmy G feels like the most Panthers move possible. I can absolutely see Rhule falling hook, line, and sinker for this "he's a winner" bullshit completely overlooking the reality that the Niners have largely won in spite of him being subpar. Oh, and he's coming off of a significant throwing shoulder surgery that will sideline him for pretty much all of TC.

I still haven't seen anything credible that we have any real interest in pursuing this. I think the Browns were anticipating recouping some decent draft capital to make up for the haul they gave up to acquire Watson but that is looking like a significant miscalculation.

If we suck again this season he shouldn't. -
NFL GM Power Rankings-ex Panther on top

Don't forget pouncing on the opportunity to pay third tier OL in the opening moments of free agency paving the way to fielding arguably the worst OL in the NFL. Oh, and trading a 3rd round pick for a bust of a former top 10 pick CB. Oh, and extending Robby Anderson and paying him like a top tier NFL WR. Oh, and trading a good starting LB for a late round draft pick to field trash at LB. I'm all for Fitterer following Rhule right on our the door when Tepper is ready to admit this collosal mistake. -

We're a farm team. Other teams pluck us of our talent and send guys who aren't working out for them down to us for continued development in the way of playing time where they can continue to evaluate from afar. That's what Tepper has turned us into. -
Honestly, this makes a lot of sense. Baker has flashed enough ability in the NFL that I wouldn't have wanted to completely mortgage my franchise on a massive trade for Deshaun Watson unless something like this was stone cold fact. The reality that no other team seems to be so much as even entertaining trading anything for him practically confirms it.
-
Agreed. We took Moron with the last pick in the 2nd round. That's a lot more tolerable than high in the 1st.

There seems to be a massive gulf between reality and Robby's perception of his own value to an NFL team. Given his cap hit, Robby Anderson is a net negative. I get it, there's a long history of NFL WRs being divas, but most of those divas are HOF candidate caliber. Robby is on his way to becoming Freddie Mitchell. I'm just waiting for him to thank his hands for being so great.
-
I'd be okay with moving Robby for whatever we could get. There are players in the NFL who have the clout to put pressure on their team to make certain moves. Robby Anderson isn't even close to being one.

Honestly, I don't think TS is wrong. Penning is extremely raw and needs a lot of work. Do we really trust this staff to develop raw talent? Like Willis, there's a lot to like but they need to land in the right spot and situation. We are neither.

If we draft Pickett #6 overall, Rhule (and possibly Fitterer) get fired and the new brain trust is scouting QBs again in next year's draft with a top 10 (honestly likely top 5) draft pick in their back pocket and trying to figure out what we can manage to salvage in trade return for Pickett. Do you really want a more athletic version of Kyler Trask? In the top 10? He's the type of QB prospect we should be looking at with our 2nd round pick if we still actually had it.

I also wish that was true. Plenty hung around to become Huddle trolls and thinly veiled racists.

I wish that was actually true.

Last year's Lamborghinis played like Volkswagens.

Oh lord, the "Sam Darnold is only 23 years old!" rationalization.
-
Both sides want a good QB. I really don't care which variety we have but the NFL really seems to be evolving toward pocket passers with mobility.

Same thing in Buffalo. Jim Kelly was already on the roster. He drafted a prototypical 6'5" cannon armed pocket statue with a room temperature IQ here in Carolina in Kerry Collins and the results were predictably middling.
