  1. Hubbard has had a couple pretty runs so far. Good cut on that one
  2. Yea or like on that play when he runs right into them behind the los
  3. Yea, I was about to post similar. People tend to get stuck in past narratives. He was a little weak against the run his rookie year but he’s gotten quite good at it especially for his size. He uses his quickness and instincts to make up for lack of bulk.
  4. Charles Johnson and Greg Hardy were premium DEs, but I don’t disagree with the sentiment. They are hard to find.
  5. My eye test agrees with the analytics in this case. Seems like every time there’s pressure Mayfield would lean into it and fall over.
  6. The Athletic had an article ranking teams’ pass protection. Panthers are #6, which is very good, but terrible in one regard: The first column is percentage of pass plays that pressure is allowed, we’re #6. The second column is percentage of pressures that result in a sack. We’re last. I put that on the QBs. Baker always seemed to try to evade pressure right into the defenders arms. The last column is total pressures allowed.
  7. part one of three. I like these videos, I watch them for all QBs we might be interested in every year. Goes pretty in depth into strengths and weaknesses
  8. Four picks in the top 100, I want QB, TE, RB, MLB. The last three in no particular order.
  9. Shaq is the only one left that should go. Everyone else is critical, young and productive. Would be foolish to let go of any others. And Shaq might be a cut, doubt anyone gives a draft pick for that contracts.
  10. CMC is better than Faulk, Faulk said so himself. Put CMC on those teams back then and his records would never be broken.
  11. Foreman isn’t going to be our starter next year hopefully. Worst case scenario we sign some mid tier guy for cheap like Josh Jacobs but I prefer we draft a stud in the mid rounds, like with the 49ers 2nd or something.
  12. First round is high to me. I wouldn’t want to spend 33 either probably, unless it’s a really great one. But mid second isn’t a high investment. I’d rather spend the 49ers second on a top tier RB than a third on an average mid tier. If there isn’t a top tier one in the mid to low second, then get an average one in the fourth or so.
  13. Nah, no more high picks on RBs but I’d definitely spend a second or later if a good one is available.
  14. Barkley is currently on a team with a winning record. And again, I’m not saying you need a first round RB, just saying the line that’s been floated many times about teams with first round RBs don’t win is provably false. Doesn’t matter if they’re not even the best RB on their team.
  15. 3-3. Division placement isn’t “winning”. Winning is winning.
  16. And for the record I definitely don’t want to spend a first on a RB, even if we had a lower first. But if there’s a stud in the second, then absolutely.
  17. Colts, ravens, niners and falcons are winning? And I never said you need one to win, I was arguing against the idea that teams that win don’t have first round RBs. I showed that there are teams that are indeed winning with first round RBs. Of course you can win without one, there’s plenty of teams winning by your definition without a first round QB, doesn’t mean it isn’t better to have one. Talk about a stupid take.
  18. Yea I almost didn’t think to include the Chiefs, but they qualify and it helps my point so I did, lol
  19. Wut? Why in the fug would we trade Chinn? This is just pure foolishness.
  20. Yea I agree. But the Giants, Cowboys and Chiefs are all winning right now with first round RBs. No single position is REQUIRED to win except QB, but the more weapons you give your QB the better he’ll look.
  21. Yea all the guys mentioned so far are JAGs at best, some are trash. We’re not going to get an equal to CMC, that player doesn’t exist, but we should be able to get a GOOD dependable guy in the second or third. I’d love to luck into a Lesean McCoy or … name escapes me but that guy from the Bears whose RB receptions record CMC broke. Both were second round guys.
  22. I’ve watched a bunch of Stroud videos including all three of JT OSullivan’s QB School videos and the only passes I saw float were the ones that were intended to float to drop in over a defenders head. He doesn’t just throw to wide open receivers, he makes throws in tight windows, with great touch over defenders’ heads, zips passes in on crossing routes and comebacks with great anticipation. He makes all the throws and looks the furtherest thing from a system QB that OSU or most any school has produced. I’ve also watched pretty much every video for Young, Levis and Hooker. They have legit concerns, more real than just “his school hasn’t produced good QBs in the past”.
  23. I get that, but I don’t think we were at much risk of winning more games even with him and he would have been nice to have for next year’s new staff.
