There's been enough speculation out there linking the Panthers to every qb prospect that no matter which one is picked you will be right. Let me tell you what I've heard from a source about who the Panthers are taking 1st overall. They say it's Bryce Young. But it could be CJ Stroud or Will Levis. But they say the wouldn't be shocked if it's Richardson in the final minutes. But don't quote me on that.

If he is the pick I worry more about him finishing every season on IR than his ability at qb. I've always thought he's the best prepared of the class for the past 2 season's. I do not think he will be the best of the class long term in the nfl. I have concerns about the others as well but not so much about their chances of finishing a season. This success of taking Young will come down to him staying off IR for 17 games and through the playoffs. That is a huge gamble even if he's a great qb. His injury risk is much higher than the other qb's at this level I don't care what any of you say.

I was hoping they could find a way to pick an edge rusher or one of these fast LB's coming out in the 2nd round. But that went out the window when they traded up and gave away DJ. This is a really good draft to need defensive players.

Sorry to hear. Wishing you the best possible outcome.

Well the Panthers are going bpa in their mind of the 4 qb's they are going to their pro days. They plan to do in depth interviews at their pro days beyondthe 15 minutesthey get at the combine. They are making all 4 a part of the 30 player visits. They plan to have dinner with each to get to know them better. They are seriously going to look hard at all 4 before a final decision is made. I know most think they knew who they were taking when that traded up and maybe they did at first. But I believe they wanted to have that freedom to truly look into these guys deeper on a personal level. It is a due diligence approach before they settled on the one to put all their faith and commitment into as the future face of the franchise.

I said by year 3. By the end of year 2 they better be nfcs Champs and win a couple of playoff games. If they are not trending up by the end of year 2 with the new qb then things will get uncomfortable in BOA.

This would be the dumbest thing they could ever do. Besides, I do not want the asshole anywhere near this team.- 69 replies

If you listen to the interview between Adam Theilen and Pat McAfee they are thinking SB run. The bar is high on this crew and if they are not there by year 3 or at least very close I doubt Tepper will tolerate anything less.

Look no further than what an average franchise qb contract cost today. Look at the contracts handed out to them the last few years and ask yourself how can you build a complete team with the money left. You are seeing where this is going in the future. If you hit on qb you only have a few years to sound him with talent before you have to dedicate a large portion of your salary cap to 1 player. The rookie has about 2 years by my estimate before the Panthers have another 1st round pick to replace his ass if they are in the same situation as this year. If they have not made the nfcc game by then I doubt Reich and Fitterer are around to take the next swing.

That's good. He will need both while he's finishing every season on IR. -
You guys will have a nervous breakdown before the draft gets here.

That's how these guys operate. The only prediction that will matter is the one they got right. No one will remember that they predicted every one of the at some point before the draft. It's called CYOA. -

You assume you can trade to any slot you want. You also assume the qb they want will be available. You are also assuming you know the qb preferences of all teams ahead of them. They ONLY way you insure your qb will be there is getting the 1st pick.
