Reich wanted a vet qb. He wanted Carr and got Fitterered. Then he was forced to use Young and a mismatched cast of offensive coaches. He was toast as soon as he took the job. He was the wrong coach for developing a rookie qb and everyone knew it but Tepper and Fitterer. And they took the wrong rookie. It was doomed from the start.

Both equally bad but as others have said the cost to get Young out weights the cost of Clausen. Recency bias is a hell of a drug though so I will overlook that.

All I know is that the top qb as per the media is rarely ever the best of the bunch. It's usually the 2nd or 3rd ranked guy according to the "professionals" that will always make it in the league in some form or fashion. Not their anointed pick.

Agents pay media analysts to sell a client all the time. The same thing happens around draft time. See Young last year. Just look at the Sanders hype going on right now. I tried to watch the game but the slobbering over him made it impossible to watch. Wait until the offseason when Dion will be out there selling them both, and folks are already buying it. You cannot let the media tell you who's the best you must figure it out for yourself. Good luck!

Making him start again next week almost feels like they are punishing him now. He clearly has no confidence, if he ever had it. He is obviously not able to be an nfl starter at this point and I think he now knows it. You can see it in his eyes. I'm not sure what Dave's plan is at this point or that he has better option available, but he needs to put us and Bryce out of our misery. He needs figure out some kind of plan B that has Young sitting out a few games at minimum.

It's low hanging fruit. It's like saying the sky is blue. Water is wet.

Tepper has to realize he needs to put someone known for building a team in charge of the major decisions for the team. HE IS THE PROBLEM!
