Browns and Panther Fan Reactions to the Baker Mayfield Trade
Jon Snow replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
My fear is that it will be just good enough to keep the mediocrity going. Extensions for everyone for just being average is not good enough. -

I really don't have a choice. But I'm not buy that turds jersey. No sir. -
What's the reaction when the Browns sign Cam Newton?

He has enough here already.

I think it equates to a 3 depending on your pain tolerance.

No, I didn't feel him. If I knew wtf he was talking about maybe I would have felt him. The guy has to have brain damage, right?

I was perfectly happy letting things play out with Darnold. It would reach its inevitable conclusion with another 5-10 season or worse. Tepper cleans house and we hopefully get someone else in here that knows how to coach an nfl team. But noooooo...they have to trade for this douchenozzle and ruin everything.

But he's not a good one. He's just better than Darnold. I cannot bring myself to cheer for the guy. I feel about him the way most on here feel about Darnold. I can't stand the SOB.

He will be meh, but that's an improvement over what we've seen so far. He will improve the team just enough to get his extension. -
I prefer someone that doesn't need on the job training. Rhule is not and will nevet be a competent nfl head coach. Baker Mayfield is and will always be a mediocre qb. If you are content with that then more power to ya.

Baker will get it if they manage more than 5 wins this season. You can take that to the bank.

It's a push between the two for me. But Baker will pull off enough wins to keep rhule around and get his franchise extension money for getting the team to 8 or 9 wins. -

I'm a Panther fan and I hate it even for what we gave up. Not a Baker fan at all. -
I have no idea what he's talking about.

I feel sick to my stomach right now.

I hope all of you that are excited about this realize that this ensures Rhule finishes out his contract. He will also extend Baker if they have a winning season. This is not a 1 year experiment or rental for the team.

You're wasting your time trying to keep me on the straight and narrow brother. -

Might not be an adequate choice of words I used to describe what he's going through. In any case it has to become automatic for him and not have him thinking too much if that makes sense. -

That will serve him well in the big league. He's going to need it. -
Matt Corral: The Biggest Underdog in The NFL

A lot hinges on the performance of the offensive line. I'm expecting much early on to be honest. But it has to look better than last season, right? I mean how could it possibly be worse? -

That's a double edge sword. A simpler offense is too easy to diagnose and defend. The defense has a tremendous edge on the rookie and the team as a whole. That's how you end 5-12 for the season. I'm all for getting him out there but you have to give him a chance at least. There's a huge difference between college competition and nfl competition. Let's hope he catches on quickly. -

That's they only way you should start a rookie. You are doing him a disservice by throwing him out there when he's not ready to execute the full playbook comfortably. He has to have enough film study with a vet qb and a coach that can teach him how to read nfl defenses. Does he have that here? I surely hope so.
