  1. What the hell would you be taking tranquilizers on purpose for anyway?
  2. Beaver tranquilizers? They have to have their own?
  3. That's thinking too far ahead for scenarios. You plan for the worst. It's a competition until isn't not anymore. In other words when someone is the clear cut starter you bring in the best available to compete. If you hadn't noticed the qb room is extremely thin on talent. Adding to it only makes it stronger.
  4. What about the kid from Tennessee? Bet he's in the running for LG.
  5. Stop announcing picks before its announced on TV dufus...what. Who?
  6. Yes, but if they happen to find themselves in a position to take a top 2 qb next year I doubt they pass. Fitterer will be calling that guy the "future". I don't put much stock in that kind of talk until the season has played out.
  7. They starting qb will (should) be decided by game 1.
  8. As it should be. If the OC knows a good qb's when he sees one it should not be an issue.
  9. Put him with nfl wrs and he will get that timing down.
  10. Keep the rookies and the new FA's if possible and Moton. Jettison all the rest. There is no way any of the rookies could be worse than those lazy vets are. They managed to make Moton look human.
  11. I agree. That's point I'm trying to get across between the develop or start immediately crowd. Corral determines if he starts or not by how much of the playbook he can absorb and how he manages against our defense. They are not going to throw a 3rd round rookie out there if he can't beat our 3rd team defense. That's just asking to be fired.
  12. I agree with both of you in part. A rookie qb has to show in camp and practice that he can run with the 1's before I would start him. And then it would have to be due to the starter costing us games or injured. Reason being the goal is to win and maximize the talent on the team. If the current starter is winning in practice and in games you can afford to let the rookie learn more of the playbook. He will practice against an nfl defense gaining experience with every snap. If the rookie is not number 2 by the 1st game of the season you start scouting qb's. But I wouldn't wait to see if Corral is the guy anyway. Personally I would have multiple scouting reports on every qb coming out next season already. Because I'm taking one in the next draft regardless.
  13. The only opinion that matters is what the team thinks of the player and what they think they can accomplish with them. Outside noise is mostly butthurt writers and prognosticators who got their evaluations and "big boards" completely wrong because they are not as good at evaluation as they thought they were. In short.
  14. Maybe they drew straws and it came up Corral? It really doesn't matter because it was a push on which one may succeed. After that they would just have to wait to see how the draft fell. They knew Pittsburgh was taking either Pickett or Willis so those two were scratched. It was just a matter of hoping Corral made it out of the 1st. As the draft unfolded I was so happy that they didn't get antsy and cough up a haul for one of the remaining projects. I'm sure they wanted to but cooler heads prevailed. So now they sweated through the 2nd round and Corral and Howell are mysteriously still their and fans were wondering how they got this so wrong. But Fitterer said enough is enough, we have to get the short straw guy now because someone is going to take a chance on this guy and traded up with our old pal Bilicheat. They rest as they say is history.
  15. Game tape supercedes measuring tape. I've heard that uttered in some form or another for Fitterer and several other GM's. It's matters less and less the further you drop in the draft because by then you are just going by the swag method. But what matters most to the brass is how they play in games against better competition and were they consistent. Do they have enough games under their belt to have enough to judge them fairly? Minus any if that then it's pick you preferred measurement and throw darts. Ours seem to be speed.
  16. A typical Hurney draft. A good 1st round selection and crap after that.
  17. I've come to accept it. Now I'm just going to watch it all play out.
