  1. Aside from keeping Rhule on board, I am not blaming Tepper--how much more aggressive can you get?
  2. I like his "it" factor. A high-character leader, one who is willing to learn. Can we get him where he needs to be?
  3. Hard to look at measurables in Liberty games-and I think you have to consider rushing yards as well--but to your point--there is a lot to not like if you look at the numbers and some games vs D1 Comp
  4. and the media takes notice---our news is fully aware that people will believe what they want to hear and attack opposing viewpoints. They can spin almost anything.
  5. You defined "dramatic" Irony. there are different kinds.
  6. Did I say he'd be good? That would be a big a bowl of "nope". What I was saying--and what you read were different. If Darnold improves behind a better OL--and it is logical to assume that he will--then don't blow the #6 pick on a mediocre QB in a bad draft year. Let Darnold play--you are paying him to do so. Instead of trying to bring in a scrub again to fill the void. It is too late to go QB shopping. Build the OL, the DL and then, if Darnold has not improved dramatically (he probably won't) you should be in position to draft a good QB in a good draft--
  7. No clue. Elementary, my dear Watkins.
  8. I will be honest--If DW does not want Carolina, we should not want him. Take the hint and start building the OLine and Dline, Let's see what Darnold does with protection--he has never really had it---and let's move on. Not quitting, but I am not worrying about it...we do not want to trade a king's ransom for an unhappy camper.
  9. So what if Houston wants the Carolina trade but Watson prefers playing for New Orleans--how much leverage will Houston have and use? Are they going to take less to placate Watson? I think they play hardball with Watson like they have so far--if they have been unwilling to negotiate down, why would they now?
  10. HIs deposition was (supposedly) this AM and he meets with Cleveland NOW>
  11. It makes sense, and nothing else really does, from the Texans' viewpoint. I think I heard that Watson contacted Atlanta--which is interesting, but they have the fewest assets to move--the Falcons would be fools to ignore the request, but the reality is they can't afford it.
  12. A sports radio personality in Houston said that most people there want the trade to be with the Panthers, based on the available assets. Aside from that, who knows?
  13. So here is what we know: The last time he chose a team to play for, their mascot was a large cat. They also had orange helmets. Panthers or Browns.
  14. So if we don't get Watson, the next Panther move is to announce to the NFL how much they like Willis at #6.
  15. What a great year to have a bunch of butt munchers at QB in the draft. I think you draft a LT if this falls through. And Tepper took Rhule with him to Texas? That is like taking your cock-blocking cousin who knows nobody else to a party.
  16. The Saints are not the front runners. That was an opinion that is now being parroted. They are doing all they can to keep us from getting him, hoping to get a bargain in the process. Watch the Browns if anyone, in my opinion.
  17. Don't let the sideshows distract you---if we do not get Watson, blame Rhule and the circus he created here.
  18. when a top name reporter shares an opinion, the lesser reporters copy cat that sentiment, assuming the top reporter has inside information. Best to wait until tomorrow or lose you hair today.
  19. This is like in high school when the girl you asked to the dance replies, "I will let you know." (happened to a friend). What the hell? Where is our Pride? (Not the one on IR)
  20. I think the Cleveland interest is genuine, but I think the Falcons and Saints are bidding us up by trying to appeal to D4, not the Texans. They would allow the Texans to use them to do that. They also recognize that this may not be about giving Houston a great deal-they can negotiate with the player-like a free agent. Many times free agents claim they did not take the best offer-so they are playing that card. Selling themselves to D4 with intangibles. For example, New Orleans says "We are a QB away--solid front office...." Atlanta would say, "Come home, son, where the community can help you heal from this ordeal." Houston would allow it.
