Round 2-3 predictions. Do the Panthers get a pick,?
MHS831 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
So if Fitterer thought that there were 2 QBs worthy of top 10 grades and he took a LT (Cheers!) could it be that he was possibly telling a fib? -
Round 2-3 predictions. Do the Panthers get a pick,?
MHS831 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
FOR EXAMPLE: If they really like Howell or Willis or Ridder---as a developmental player who could start next year, I think I would cough up a future second-round pick and trade the fourth to move up. It would probably cost our 2023 second rounder and this year's fourth rounder. If we move up to grab Howell, it would mean the following: Our last 2 drafted QBs were Charlotte (area) natives. Our first and second rounder in 2022 were Charlotte (area) natives. Our first and second rounders were from NC State and UNC. Consider that last year's first rounder was from the Univ. of So. Carolina, it sure looks like we are into home cooking. Our first rounders over the past 2 years were within a 100-mile radius (approx) of Charlotte -

I was praying that they did not go QB....but they really had no choice. We need to work on Icky's suit choices, however. -

Exactly what I have been saying -
Which network do you prefer to watch the draft?
MHS831 replied to trueblade's topic in Carolina Panthers
Since punching Mel Kiper in the face is on my bucket list---I can't watch ESPN. -
The Eli Manning getting drafted by San Diego Chargers--then traded to the Giants. That was odd--Archie going on stage, Eli looking pissed as he held up the Chargers jersey. Probably the earliest demand for a trade ever.

Cross. That is what I hope we do However, I think they will trade with Philly/Balt and end up with Penning AND Howell.

Week Of: Draft Buzz, Rumors, & News (w/updates)

I am starting to get the feeling that our lack of involvement in the free agent QB market of late (Baker, JG), our comments/hints about wanting to move back, etc. might suggest that we will forego a top OT, trade back, grab a QB later, and play BC at T. So much depends on our evaluation of Christensen. The biggest smokescreen of all could be the fact that everyone assumes that we have no LT when the answer was on the roster all along. Just spitballin' here! And I realize that some of you think BC is not the answer, but this is my view of what they might be thinking. Frankly, I hope we draft Cross or Neal--but then who do we play at QB? -

Baker seems rather distantly removed from the reality of his situation. I am starting to loathe him. -
I dreamt that I was eating Thanksgiving Dinner with people I did not know on some busy street in NYC. We were blocking traffic, and then a cop showed up riding a Rhino. I suddenly realized that I was wearing nothing below the waist. Then there was a scarecrow, a tin man, and some cat dude.

NFL Network. -
I have a feeling that we are going to trade back. We might be staying up past our bedtimes.
-
We should be in position to get a LT tomorrow night.

I was hell bent on making the same statement--good thing I scan the thread before I dive in. -
How will you feel if we PASS on a LT in round one…..
MHS831 replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah--second round value at G, third rounder at T. Shut up Rhule--moron. -

I think the thought of sitting on their hands during day 2 will cause them to leave Neal or Cross on the board, trade back, and grab a lesser OL like Penning. Then they might trade up for Howell---if the QBs fall, and I think they will---we could be looking at something like that. It bothers me because both could bust. We have never had good luck with small school OL here, and if Howell busts, there goes what could be a decade of LT bliss. -
You guys are brutal. Leave Zod and his rod alone.

Just hope he does not throw a challenge flag after the coin toss.

Eagles is my guess.

Report: Panthers had difficulty reaching a consensus on QB’s
MHS831 replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Before you all start, I was born in Columbia when my father was playing football for the Gamecocks and I played for Western Carolina---I am not a UNC homer, but full disclosure, Howell attended the same high school my sister attended. Not enough to make me a Howell fan. Now--Howell is a good football player. The fact is, I do not know he will go to the right situation or be good, and you don't either. In the right situation, he could be effective. So stop acting like you know something the experts do not agree on. It should be embarrassing to have such misplaced, fabricated omnipotence. Full disclosure: I thought Brady Quinn would be a good QB--better than Jamarcus Russell. I was even (back in the day) torn between Leaf and Manning. More recently, I thought Cam would bust and I thought Herbert would have been tragic. I thought Darnold could turn it around here--but there is this: I was at a Panther preseason game in 2000 or so and this #12 came in for Drew Bledsoe in the second quarter. I told my friends, "Guys, #12 is better than Bledsoe." They laughed at me--for months afterwards. Now when I bring it up, they can't recall. -
Tepper has to know he gets no consideration for a new stadium if he does not listen to the fans and his sacred coach can't win

I would take 15, the second rounder, and then first next year. I want to have some draft capital to move up next year if needed.

REPORT: Panther prefer Jimmy Garoppolo to Baker Mayfield
MHS831 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Baker is too inconsistent and a head case. JG is consistently mediocre but a company man.
