I think the starters will probably play a drive or two this week. Surely, the plan is not to sit them the ENTIRE pre-season. Give them 10-15 game reps before we start the regular season.

I've said the last year or two that the Saints imploding is imminent. They never really had a change after the Brees/Payton era. Just kept piecing along and never rebuilding. Looks like implosion is here. Same thing happened to NE last year, only so long you can keep it limping along.

He was very talented, when he was available. McCaffrey is hard to judge because he really didn't have much talent around him. He was 90% of the offense. So he got most of the touches but he also didn't have much support. Stewart/Williams had Steve Smith, Greg Olsen, and (for a while) Cam on the field as well. They had a supporting cast but also less opportunity than he did.

I'll make it a bit interesting, especially since a have some free time. If I had to make a 53 man roster with our all-time players. I would do this When you go back and look at stats, McCaffrey totaled about what Stewart and Williams did when you combine his rushing and receiving, but he never even passed Cam on the all-time rushing list. Safety was hard, but I went with Harris over Cota due to his 12 FFs in 3 years. 2nd string RT was hard too.

For the record, I really hope Bryce turns it around. It's what is best for everyone. I am just very skeptical that it will actually happen.

A) They recognize there is no depth at all behind the starters. B) They have no money and are trying to get guys reps because if we get thin somewhere this season there isn't much money for outside help. C) Trying to prevent any injuries to the starting group so item B (see above) does not happen. Not ideal, but they are playing it safe.

I didn’t really have that many takeaways tonight, really wish we would have seen some starters or 2nd string guys instead of 3rd and 4th all night. Anyways… Good: · Team may not be much better than last year but has more “grit” it appears. · Dillon Johnson may make the team until Brooks is healthy (if they carry 4 RBs). · Still like Jamison and TJ Smith. · This pieced together OL of guys that have been here a few days looked better than whatever that was last week. Bad: · WRs still struggle for separation. · Jack Plummer.. Just make Luton the #3 guy at this point. Ugly: · It’s clear they know there is a depth problem by how much they are giving these guys reps and resting the starters. · Had Dillon Johnson not ran the ball like a crazy person the last two minutes, we still wouldn’t have a TD.

I mean the easiest thing is to just help him be successful. But he actually has to want to (which is there) and have the tools (which it appears he lacks). I don’t doubt Morgan and Canales are going to try but I don’t think they are going to bet their jobs on him, either. If he isn’t getting any better, you’re going to see Dalton in there to prove Bryce is the problem and then we are going to be debating Drew Allar Vs Carson Beck for the next few months.

Going to be hard to know because this offense is going to have to be tailored to Bryce for him to be successful since he doesn’t have a basic QB skill set… like throwing the ball 35 yards, or seeing over his OL.

Another year of Panthers poor QB play is more important than the election. It takes precedence.
