  1. I really don't understand the appeal. One of the biggest selling points of attending a hockey game is the amazing proximity to the action- much closer than any of the other sports, except maybe hoops. Sitting as far away as a football stadium allows, you'll be lucky to hear a puck hitting a stick or a crossbar. And we haven't even gotten into how the league just rakes in the cash when the teams have no say in the ticket prices. For $180 I cans sit behind the penalty box at PNC. For $250 I can sit in the upper deck nosebleeds at Carter Finley. No, thanks.
  2. I think they just need contrasting sweater colors. After all, the nearest fans to the ice will be at least 15 yards away given the fact hockey ice is about 1/3 the size of a football field.
  3. Wait.... didn't Belichick try that co-coordinator thing just this season? How'd that work out?
  4. And all the Colts had to do was beat the league-worst Jacksonville Jags to get into the playoffs on the last game of the regular season in 2021 and they pissed their pants. Lost to a bad Raiders team the week before and then went to Jacksonville and were never in the game.
  5. Out of all the names brought up as possible candidates and an initial round of interviews and the best 2nd interviews candidates are Frank Reich and Steve Wilks? Holy crap- a lot of very good, viable candidates must have said, "No, thanks," to have to scrape these 2 guys up.
  6. As Tripp always says, "All you can ask for is consistency." I've always thought hockey officials are inherently bad at their jobs. There aren't that many rules to the game, it's not that fugging hard.
  7. We'll get to see Timo Meier tomorrow night. He's on the block as well, although not at the top of my list, he wouldn't be nearly as costly as a rental.
  8. There were a lot of completely missed penalties and extra-curriculars last night that are inexcusable. How Glendening skated halfaway across the ice, dropping his gloves along the way to start a fight with Pesce, who had nothing to do with the Dallas skater who went down, and no instigating was called yet Pesce gets a 5-minute fighting penalty was criminal in and of itself. And the flailing stick that "accidentally" got around and clipped Raanta's head and neck area. How the fug do 4 officials on the ice miss that?
  9. I dunno about you guys, but this is butt ugly to my eyes:
  10. I'd really like to see Burns legally crush someone.
  11. LTIR Andersen, bring Kooch back for the rest of the season.
  12. Hate to say it, but an injury prone Andersen won't get much on the trade block, but the Canes may have no choice. If the Canes have to bring Kochetkov back, he'll be close to his 38 games and can't be protected from the waiver wire.
  13. Goal tending will end the season for Carolina in the 2nd round yet again.
  14. I watch every game on BSSO. I hope whoever is next will carry all games.
  15. Dallas has last change and they just put their top line on the ice against the Canes 3rd blue line. Be lucky not to lose this game by 3 goals. Dallas getting no offensive zone time but has 2 goals on 3 shots.
  16. I haven't lived in G'Boro since 1998 and I remember the place on High Point Road very well. We used to pick up tailgate food the night before. Technically not a sub, but the best pastrami on rye I've ever had was in Charleston... and I can't remember where... was an old Jewish neighborhood deli downtown, with seating in the back.
  17. Sorry, I misspoke. Jacob Slavin did not practice this afternoon before the flight to Dallas. I have no idea if he was on the flight. I did not read Walt's tweet correctly. Apologies.
  18. Did not make the flight to Dallas. Lower body injury.
  19. No way do you trade your top winger and sniper. C'mon, you guys, you're smarter than this.
  20. if your agent hasn't done any better than give you a $10k margin of error on the closing costs calculations, I'd fire him yesterday. No. As stated before, closing costs are part of the settlement and are doled out at closing (hence, the name "closing costs.") Fire your agent and get a reputable agent with an established real estate company. Part of the calculations that go into an asking price are: comps, tax value. real value, current interest rates, etc. As stated before, unless you are asking less than what you owe (upside down); asking less than what will net you anything, including closing costs; or are on the precipice of a bankruptcy (even then you could request a short sale from the bank). Something seems pretty whack if you're having to take a loss on the sale of a home.
  21. Not until every other candidate has been hired by another team and there's nobody left except an old, mediocre retread who will guarantee a sub .500 season.
  22. In that case, you'd have to offer up KK as well. He's getting paid way too much money as a 4C. That matching offer stunt to get him out of Canada may have looked okay last year, but it looks like a waste of money this year unless he somehow starts tearing it up in the 2nd half of the season.
  23. I'm not bailing on a possible Tarasenko (STL) deal either. Matter of fact, I'd be willing to discuss O'Reilly (STL), Dylan Larkin (DET), Horvat (VAN), JT Compher (COL).
