  1. Was a late night for sure. But, again, while we're all talking about the Canes not playing their game and allowing Nashville to dictate the pace, etc., I'm gonna continue throwing sh!t at the refs, which have been horrible the entire series. A non-stop list of missed and bad calls that change the pace of the game away from Carolina every time they get something going. How do you win a game 4-2 in OT? From a complete bullsh!t call that took away the tying goal. That didn't work, so call a terrible holding penalty on Foegele in OT might have helped Nashville. Too many men on the ice twice in the 3rd period by Nashville not called. Martinook tripped right in front of the net, not called. High stick to Aho's head in the middle of the ice was completely ignored. And that's just the 3rd period! Fug 'em. Goalie interference, my ass. But the first Trenin goal was from a high stick up around his shoulders, so unless he's only 4 feet tall, there's no way that stick was below the cross bar. Hell, it finished above his head. Oh, and let's not forget today Dougie question: When the fug is he gonna use his size to impose his will on players who want to take shots at his team mates? How come we never see him in the scrum?
  2. In this period alone: 2 times too many men not called, high stick to Aho's head not called, tripped Martinook in front of the net no call.
  3. This team will be a perennial contender unless Waddell fugs it up. They have youth, talent, cap space and a very good farm system. Granted, there will come a time when they can't keep all of their studs- Aho, TT, Svech, Nino, Necas- but look at how well Pacquette, Fast and Hakanpaa have fit right in.
  4. Where was Hamilton during that scrum, getting his nails done?
  5. I'll start a GoFundMe account if that's what it takes to get Hamilton to play some fugging defense tonite and show us all why he should remain the head blue-liner on this team. But, in the end, you know what? I'm good with Slavin, Pesce, Skjei, Hakanpaa. Bean needs some work and we can find another defenseman or 2 for the amount of money Dougie wants.
  6. I'm well aware of that. But aren't you the guy who said there was no such thing as home ice advantage? Carolina wins either one of their first 2 road games and the series is over.
  7. I'd venture to say a Carolina loss today could mean a 1st round exit. They are not playing their style game on the road.
  8. Thought for sure Svech would get 4 for the Nashville guy hitting his own player
  9. Shock and amazement! A delay of game not called on Nashville. The phantom deflection!
  10. Point being, the players don't care if the officiating is good, bad or whatever. They just need to know that it'll be consistent and they'll play the game accordingly.
  11. The NHL puts a fine on that play and completely ignores the interference on Staal later, which could have been a penalty shot. The icing call when Ben Harpur was playing the puck in front of him, looked up for a second to see where he was going with the pass, the puck slides by and gets the whistle. WTF?
  12. Stevie Wonder wouldn't have missed that many calls. Watching last night's game is precisely the reason I don't do social media. I would have spent half the night calling out the refs on the league's Twitter feed or whatever. It was bad enough during regulation, but to go through almost 2 OTs and get progressively worse? How is that possible?
  13. So, the series stands at 2-0-1 with the refs taking game 3.
  14. The refs aren't even trying to be subtle. Blatant bullshit calls.
  15. What's the over/under on Canes penalties tonite?
  16. Ned stood a much better chance going out to challenge Foreskin. He gave up half the blue paint to Filip.
  17. If the Canes can win one of the next 2, Slavin can take the rest of the series off and hopefully be ready for the next round. LaJoie a -25 in one season? Sheesh.... but I, for one, am not a big fan of this stat as it really doesn't take into account a lot of "what if's."
  18. There are 2 teams I do not want to see in the playoffs, and they're playing each other right now- Washington and Boston. Both teams are stacked with players I would label as dirty and, because they're veterans, won't catch a penalty against anyone else. Marchand takes cheap shots when he thinks the refs aren't looking and Wilson will hurt anyone he can.
  19. I watched the Tampa Bay-Florida game last night. 10 of the 11 goals scored in that game were at the same end of the ice. TB scored all 5 in the 2nd, Florida changed goalies and stormed back in OT, with the OT game-winner scored by the only guy on the Panthers roster who didn't take a shot during regulation. Also watched Montreal-Toronto. That inadvertent hit on Tavares was brutal- off on a stretcher. Then Foligno decided he was going to fight Corey Perry, even though Perry had given Tavares the tap as he was going off the ice and apologized. It wasn't a malicious hit, just 2 guys colliding. Here's to Carolina stealing one in Nashville. Look, if Nashville were to just go out and play hockey, they get trounced because they simply cannot generate the offense to beat the Canes. They have no alternative but to try to create power plays and draw Carolina into a street fight.
