  1. Conspiracy! There is no such word because it doesn't exist.....but it does.
  2. That realization just hit me today. That's the best thing we could do. It would be cheaper and more entertaining. Not Pickett though. We all have our favorites but not that guy. Can't believe the hype, pundits are very often wrong.
  3. Stop. Absurd is the last four years. And yes, we do believe they have absolutely no idea what they're doing. It shows.
  4. Wow, are you saying nobody but Cam would even pick up the phone and now even he's like "get yo priorities in order" before he would think about it again!? If you're really building stop thirsting after and trying throwing money at FAs and getting turned down, you look desperate. I'm now totally ok with rolling with the best rookie QB you can "steal" out of this draft. Not Fhules Gold like Zach Wilson and the elder Pickett. No, more like Mac Jones or this draft Carson Strong. Don't believe the hype. That is the mistake teams like the Jets and Dolphins make. Green Bay, the Patriots approach their decisions based on researching, scouting, finding a diamond, not Fhules Gold.
  5. Save that money and draft a 6'4" QB not named Pickett and play him. At least it's a firm commitment to the future. Sam can back up the rookie.
  6. Looking through all of that he, his mentality as a QB is gunslinger. He scares you with these bullets seemingly in triple coverage but all those DBs saw was a smoke trail. He is so confident in his arm it's scary sometimes but he can physically do it like Brett Favre and some others, but not many others. Looking at his game he reminds me of Brett good and bad. He does have the golden arm but NFL DBs are a tick faster. He's a high IQ kid so he'd adjust, but that arm!
  7. It's just like when someone bought my dad's conversion van. He took such good care of that van. Saw it flying through a red light a couple weeks later. Smh. I loved that van. Saw it about two months later and they were again flying but now with the side of the van caved in an apparent t-bone. Watching our Panthers the last four years has been just like watching our family we loved and invested in destroyed by idiots. Terrible slow motion crash of a pick on a fifth year player who wasn't good enough to be drafted as a junior like Carson Strong. Picking Pickett is like buying old meat at the supermarket.
  8. I had Trask as a second rounder. I was correct. I wanted Parsons/Pitts in the first Trask in the second. I also said Zach Wilson was overrated smallish and would struggle. The year Marty went out to Oregon to see Justin Herbert, whom I was already a huge fan of, I thought it was over, he was moving up to get the future OROY. I was on the Justin Herbert Bandwagon while others here were hating on that young man kinda like the anti-Strong. Say what you want Trask would take Darnolds lunch money. Also, Carson Strongs great stats are from being a student of the game his already advanced ability to read and check into and out of plays. His coach states he is one of the best at reading defenses that he's ever seen. Read it. That's what makes a QB great at the next level. 70% completion is not system that's his obsession with being an excellent QB.
  9. When the weeds are separated from the chaff I think Strong is going to jump. Any year if you somehow woke up and you look at this tall kid slinging it way down field with touch and close to 70% accuracy with 4186 actual yards and 36 actual TDs actually playing the QB position three years having had a surgery or two but hasn't missed games because of that. He'd be baby Andrew Luck. Would it be STUPID for the Panthers to draft Carson Strong at six? It would be a very cool JERSEY and a very talented arm. Yes. He IS a gun slinger. At least he has a gun. Would it be the most stupid thing the Panthers have done in the last four years? No.
  10. Look at that article. GRINDER,HIGH IQ. This guy has all the physical tools plus can really really sling it. Panthers have done a lot of dumb things. Investing in a Drew Brees level grinder, high IQ plus prototype 6'4", tough, determined. Those are the characteristics of a good/great NFL QB. I like that his coach says he's high IQ. That's all I needed PLUS that arm!? As a junior he's used his opportunity to make a pretty impressive college run. I wouldn't doubt that such an impressive individual wouldn't be able to adapt, especially when they are great at understanding, so I wouldn't really be concerned with that one stat when all the others are above average.
  11. https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/carson-strong-2022-nfl-draft-profile So, it’s a lofty goal for sure, but it’s one that those around Strong certainly haven’t ruled out as a possibility. “If a quarterback is above a 65% in completion percentage, I’m happy,” Nevada offensive coordinator Matt Mumme said. “If we’re throwing for 70%, we’re probably pretty successful. He’s a kid that backs up a lot of what he says.” Strong has been impressive throughout his college career in several aspects, but particularly in that area, recording a 70.1% completion percentage in 2020—a nearly 7% jump from the season before. Mumme describes him as one of the most “savvy” quarterbacks he’s ever had. “He’s a smart guy academically, but he’s also extremely smart on the football field,” Mumme said. “He’s probably the most savvy quarterback knowledge-wise against defenses I’ve ever had. He’s a guy who is very energetic, very interactive with all of his teammates. I’ve had other quarterbacks who are still interactive with their teammates, but not quite in the same way". YES! Yes all day. Just what I thought. Special. Strong!
  12. Everything I can see, injury but hasn't missed games, 70%completion two consecutive years, 4000+yds 36TDs 8int, coach allowing him to check into and out of plays independently. That all says, tough, grinder, high IQ, self disciplined, all at a young age. This SHOULD be QB1 Add to that NFL QB prototypical size at 6'4" and serious armstrength, nice touch.
  13. You evade pressure by putting the damn ball in the air to a running player, not necessarily running it yourself. Strong steps up in the pocket and he moves around in the pocket and has an elite arm. All the people talking about mobility and pressure. How is he still putting up very good numbers and giving us great tape like the Op has provided if he was soooooo flawed? Carson Strong is the prototype NFL QB. He checks all the boxes for a QB except for open field Cam style running. Dude had a 70% completion percentage two years in a row. I can't remember a Panthers QB who has done that.
  14. What's funny is, as bad as our franchise is flailing and failing most of us want that ring.
  15. Tepper and Rhule have decided they're gonna take a 25yr old franchise and fan base with NFC Championships and two Superbowl appearances along with a 15-1 season back to school, back to academia. They're gonna beat the NFL with analytics and a college staff to boot. Taking this franchise back to square one had to be the intention 1000%. Obviously for Mr. Teppers entertainment only because this is embarrassing.
  16. Here at year four, no signs of neuron activity.
  17. Yup, I totally agree. I've looked at all these guys. This one is my favorite by far. The Op provided some very good commentary and analysis of Carson Strong by way of those vids. I've watched those and then some. His tape is outstanding. We all have our favorites. The same criteria I used to become a Justin Herbert Bandwagon Member the year they took D.Brown is the same as today same with Kyle Trask last year. I look at what guys have achieved on the field, how long, stats, system, measurables, this is my crush this year and I'm sticking with Strong. We'd be much better off with this kid than anything we've got.
  18. Damn, JR wanted to build the Panthers like the Steelers organization. I'm so jealous now because Tepper loves everything Jets and the road that leads us to.
  19. All that and still better than picking Pickett. They all have negatives if you sit there and pick. The stats and the game tape don't lie. Scouts can knitpick anybody and find what they think is a deficiency but they can't take away those games, yards, tds. Those are real and not imagined.
  20. 70% completion for two years in a row (not Fhules Gold) 63% the year before that, 4186yds, 36TD, 8int as a junior AND he has a golden arm too!? Proof is in the pudding he performs. And he's the NFL prototype.
  21. The Op videos showed Strong avoiding pressure climbing up the pocket to use that cannon. Game tape says different. We all have our favorites though.
