Young should have been on HGH the moment the CFP ended, what is that man doing? I agree that Young would be a Lawrence/Luck level prospect if he was 2 inches taller I disagree about Stroud being at his ceiling, he showed in the UGA game that he had some scramble ability. I think the coaching staff will work with him to be more loose and move outside the pocket. He has the speed apparently.

I feel like we could have done it without the 25 2nd round pick. Chicago would really turn down Moore and 2024 1st and a 2nd this year? I don't think so.
-
I meant in terms of smooth collected passing and finding the open receiver with perfect mechanics, but not improvising much or scrambling. If you watch his tape, it looks like Dak Prescott's NFL tape. I think Dak is CJ's floor. If he never improves, he will be as good as Dak Prescott. Which is not bad and a safe #1 pick, but you'd hope for more. Its up to our staff to get the most of him, by all accounts he seems coachable.

Nor will he in Chicago

CJ is very similar to Dak Prescott. If we take him the coaching staff thinks they can improve his intangibles to a tier above. With Young I see a lot of Russell Wilson and Mahomes, it's obvious he's influenced by them. But he's just really small. Russ was built and Mahomes is much taller.

Some of you are incredibly impatient and/or shortsighted. The Panthers also are slated to have a ridiculous amount of cap room next offseason. You get your QB now, then make the big splash next offseason when he is ready.
-
Its more because we fed him the ball over the last 5 years, I can't remember many times were DJ simply took over a game, if at all. I think he's a possession receiver, like jarvis landry. Nice player to have, but someone you aren't sad if you trade. Trading for Hopkins would make this a much, much better WR unit.

I feel like you can't go wrong with either of them I also feel if we had Young or Stroud last season, despite being in college, we would have made the playoffs...they are that much better than Mayfield, PJ and Darnold, even as rookies Bears fans are rejoicing that they might get another top 5 pick... I don't think so....Stroud and Young are way better QB's that we had last year and we finished 9th worst.

Carl is really upset becuase he wanted Darnold to get another chance

Deandre Hopkins with the other 2nd Rounder?

So... Common Sense Says We're Drafting Stroud... Right????
amcoolio replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
Need to spy on the Texans to see who they want, and trade down to 2 and get a 2nd rounder back. I think both Young and Stroud are slam dunks. -
DJ Moore is Kobe? More like DJ Moore is Detlef Schrempf
-
I think DJ is overvalued here. Ideally, he's a above average #2 WR. Like Tee Higgins territory. Would not be surprised to see him struggle in Chicago. This is a great trade. We finally have a direction, and Young and Stroud are both special talents. We had to go get one of them.

Good (or even average) quarterbacks don't have this statline 5-of-15 passes for 43 yards with two interceptions and a 2.8 passer rating In a dome game, and this was the last time we saw him. NO

Charlie Campbell: Panthers love Bijan Robinson
amcoolio replied to thunderraiden's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd trade up back into the 1st for him, if we don't trade our assets for a QB This team needs playmakers -
S2 Cognitive test points to NFL Success
amcoolio replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
I figure that Young and Stroud are both high performers of this test It will be very sad if we don't get either of them -
Don't mind it actually, I don't think our O-Line is as strong as you guys think. I also think Moton is candidate for regression. Also Corbett won't play any of training camp with the ACL tear. Christiansen can move to RG, and this guy at LG. If offensive line is the best position on the board, then so be it

PFF - What would it take for Panthers to trade up for #1 pick
amcoolio replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Huddlers: We need a franchise QB Huddlers: Also don't trade up, don't take Levis or Richardson, don't sign Carr, don't trade for Lamar/Rodgers -
What is it with this fanbase and their love for bridge vet QB's?
amcoolio replied to CamWhoaaCam's topic in Carolina Panthers
Because this board is wanting to win, and at the same time banking their hopes on Anthony Richardson at 9, bringing Sam Darnold back as a bridge becuase he "improved" last year, and Matt Corral, which would equal another 6-11 season and a huge meltdown here -
Carr is the best option if it takes 3+ first round picks for Stroud, Young, Lamar, or Rodgers This staff isn't taking Levis or Richardson...they want to win now

Quarterbacks win championships
amcoolio replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I love that people like to attack posters intelligence on here for having a different opinion. Totally not like anyone to be completely wrong on here before but ignore it and pretend like it never happened.... Everyone knows Darnold has all the physical tools. Darnold's mental deficiencies aren't fixable. He panics. He holds on to the ball a half second more than he needs to. He doesn't trust himself. There is no possible way you can tell me that Darnold could play in that game last night. He couldn't even play in week 18 in a meaningless game....he panicked all over himself to the tune of 5 completed passes...in a dome! Look, Sam is a nice guy. I get that you want to see him succeed. But even if he had a super staff of the Eagles and Chiefs offensive gurus combined, it is very unlikely he could be fixed. The Eagles and Chiefs dropped their dead weight quarterbacks before Mahomes and Hurts, so they see stuff like this too. THE #1 TRAIT you need in a quarterback, beyond all else, is composure. 2nd is will to win. Darnold has neither. We don't need to subject ourselves to settle for subpar quarterbacking. Enough with the excuses for Sam, and enough with the putting down posters on here who want to be rid of Sam.
