  1. I'd give it somewhere between C and D minus. Trading up into the first was dumb even if you count the 5th year option. And I don't think that's why they did it. They panicked that some other team was going to take their guy. Taking the RB in the second round was dumb even if he becomes the best player for the Panthers from the draft. But this is the team that gave Miles Sanders a big contract, so it's par for the course. The TE is my favorite pick of the draft. Hopefully, he pans out. Taking the LB over a center in the third was another dumb move. The other picks were whatever. Not addressing center at all in the draft was really stupid. And before anyone says the draft just didn't fall for them to take one, I call BS. They had their chances to take two of the top three centers and just said no thanks. Depending on AC and BC to man the center position will bite them in the ass. But, doing so also gives them an excuse if things go south this year, and that might be what they're counting on.
  2. If he balls out, they wouldn't trade him because they would think they've found their guy.
  3. That doesn't mean Corbett can handle the center position's protection calling duties or even snap the ball cleanly.
  4. Corbett was a tackle in college and has only ever been a guard in the NFL outside of some camp snaps at center. He's not a center.
  5. Bryce has no center. And no, Corbett isn't one despite what he and the team are claiming. If he was, he would have started at center for other teams instead of them moving him right back to guard after camp.
  6. Donelly doesn't mind the trade and gets why they did it for the 5th year option. Doesn't like the player because of age and lack of college production until his 5th year.
  7. In the 80s Seems Morgan wants the Panthers to play Foxball... again.
  8. I'd say Tepper moves on from both if Young doesn't show improvement this season. It will most likely depend on whoever has Tepper's ear and what they tell him though.
  9. The Panthers have never been a truly well run organization and have gotten worse under Tepper. Will it keep being one? Don't know, but I'm not holding by breath that it'll suddenly be one. As for the rest of your post, as John Fox loved to say, "it is what it is." Canales knew the risk/reward when he accepted the job. The NFL has always been a harsh business when it comes to coaches and GMs. That's not going to change anytime soon.
  10. Why not? He took the job because he thought he could "fix" Young. Also, his pal and GM had a huge hand in drafting Young. For better or worse, Canales will be tied to Young's success or failure.
  11. I had a similar thought when I saw the Panthers had traded into the first round for Legette on the news this morning. Are they really going to go with big receivers and just tell Young to throw it up so they can go get it like Ron and Co tried with Newton? I hope Legette finds success, but the big receiver thing didn't work then and I don't think it'll work now.
  12. They'll probably trade 39 to recoup some draft picks and miss out on any potential starters.
  13. Maybe, maybe not. I haven't paid attention to the Pats, so have no idea how good or bad their QB situation is.
  14. Doesn't matter if Maye's situation is better or worse than Young's was last year. If Maye has a terrible season, LG will say it is worse and blame everyone except Maye for it. The UNC homerism is strong.
