Bryce Young will be the best QB ever in Charlotte
jayboogieman replied to Diehardpanth02's topic in Carolina Panthers
I haven't read the thread Maybe set your expectations a little lower especially since he's not promised to be a Panther. Could he end up being that? Yes. Is he currently? Heck no -
Size bros rejoice!

It's new

I get what you're saying and I hope the offense will be very good but after all these bad years, I'm not counting the chickens until they hatch.

Frank looks like a worried dad.

Multi is more than one. Two is more than one. What's not accurate about that? The one thing I was wrong about was him being a fifth year senior. I got him confused with the other older QBs. Levis only played four years in college.

Again, completion percentage is not just about the QB. Richardson didn't have good receivers in the first place and by the end of the season was throwing to the guys at the bottom of the depth chart. And yeah, Richardson would let his footwork go at times. The dude needs coaching and a better supporting cast. I saw another post where you mentioned Levis. The difference between the two is that Richardson was a first year starter while Levis was a 5th year multi year starter. Levis should have been a near complete work instead of still being raw compared to Richardson's lump of clay waiting to be molded.

Yep and trying to win now could bite them in the backside. Any rookie QB can bust despite the coaches and system. They would be better off to use this first year to make sure everyone has their feet under them and make sure the rookie QB can handle the game/pressure of being an NFL starter. Then, go win now in year 2. But it seems the patience isn't there for that.

Unless they were scared another team would pick him before 9

Completion percentage doesn't matter. Holton Ahlers(67.2%) had a higher completion percentage than Stroud(66.3%) and Young(64.5%) last year. Does that mean Ahlers applied himself more than Stroud and Young? No, it's just a report of how often the WRs/TEs/RBs caught passes no matter how good or bad they were thrown, and not a measure of how good or accurate a passer the QB is. Which makes no sense why it's a QB stat.

And we, fans, don't know if he has that drive or not. All we'll ever know is hearsay.

The realization that they made such a move that cost so much sets in along with the idea that being wrong means their jobs. Honestly, if you move up to 1 like they did, then you shouldn't care about playing it safe afterwards. Even the safest prospect can bust, so just take the guy you feel will be the best.

I had wanted a waffle house fight gif, but couldn't find one. This will do though

I don't know if they're the right staff despite the experience. McCown has never coached at this level before and Frank might not have the time to devote to developing someone so raw. That said, the hope is that they are the right staff for any of the QBs. I think they're trying to "win now" again as well. Hopefully, this time it doesn't bite them in the butt again.

Isn't this coaching staff, with their centuries of experience, the right staff to develop Richardson?
-
Don't worry. They'll meet him at the for breakfast instead.

So basically we have no idea who will be drafted

Me either, but it's the most Panthers thing that could happen.
