Starts the show talking about the importance of leadership. Makes the point that the Hurricanes' owner bought that team the same year Tepper bought the Panthers and that the Hurricanes are the only NHL team to make the playoffs each of the last 5 years. Boomer says Young is learning and should have sat 6-8 weeks so he could study how Dalton prepped for games They point out that Tremble slowed on a route last Sunday and it looked like an overthrow even though Tremble was at fault. Chris asked Boomer if that sort of thing effects how hard and where a QB throws the ball. Boomer says indecisive is the word Chris is looking for. Talks about how not being on the same page leads to indecisiveness. Boomer says Young will improve and dedicate himself to doing so. Says Young will add weight/muscle in the offseason. They ask Boomer how he would fix the team. Boomer says he's not qualified to fix a team. Boomer gives a lot of fluff about how hard it is for a GM and coach to run a team. Boomer says the impatience of an owner can make things worse. Chris says it sounds like Tepper is the problem. Boomer laughs and jokes maybe he should be the coach. Asks Boomer if the Carolina job is attractive. He says it is since it's one of only 32 and that every coach believes he is the guy to fix the team. Says Tepper will have to pay a lot of money to land a good coach though. They talk about how good Drake Maye is. Boomer loves him and thinks he'll land in New England if the Pats hold on to the second pick. Laughs when Chris says the Bears might take Maye at 1 thanks to the Panthers. Boomer says you can't make stuff like that up. Not a bad 25 minute watch

I'm watching now and they're mostly talking about other things than Young. Really all Delhomme mostly said was he would advise Young that it'll get easier and that the game will slow down.

I hadn't heard of Tim until a few weeks ago, but yeah, he doesn't hold back and seems more right than wrong with his takes. He brought up that doing what Carolina did with Howell and Maye was highly unusual too. And yeah, Maye probably should have transferred from UNC last year. I don't see Mack retiring until his contract expires unless his health takes a turn for the worse. He seems perfectly happy cashing those checks.

As this season has proven, scheme matters. Just because a guy is good in man blocking, doesn't mean he can zone block. Same is true for corners that can cover zones, but not man. Or slow receivers running go routes.

On the one hand the Panthers need cheap talent, so trading down makes sense. On the other, they need the best talent they can get too, so trading down from borderline first round talent doesn't make sense.

The team needs talent across the board. That said, until a new coach is hired, it's hard to say what is needed most since we don't know what scheme the new HC will want to run. Take Oline for example. If the new guy wants to run a zone scheme, new Oline will be a priority. If he wants to stay withe the power running scheme, then that pick can be used on something else.

Tim not only talks about Maye going pro, but dives into what UNC and other schools should be pitching to guys in the portal and HS when recruiting them.

I agree with you here. But I don't think the Tepper's will even interview much less hire anyone that would be willing to tell them to butt out.

Even with Dalton playing, I see the Panthers losing out. The offense is that broke. So, let Young get the reps. Lord knows he needs them.
