How would you feel if Fields becomes an all world talent we could've just drafted ourselves and Darnold predictably flames out ?

If DJ was on the Chiefs or Packers or something he'd been seen as an all world talent It's a testament to how good DJ and Smith are/were that they consistently perform so well with inconsistent and questionable QB talent throwing to them .

Sewell has to be our #1 prospect at this point . If the Bengals take Chase or Pitts we could have a decent shot at getting him . What do you think our chances are? And I'm starting to see a trend among mocks that if Sewell doesn't go to Cinci then the Lions take him right before our pick . If they really are that big of a threat to take him why wouldn't the Panthers trade up slightly to get him ? I personally would gladly trade one or two mid rounders along with 8 to get Detroit's 7 or Miami's 6 to get Sewell. It shouldn't cost that much because Detroit or Miami could likely still get the player they wanted because they only traded down one or two spots .

By that logic we've been playing games for well over a decade (and losing)

I'm really curious to see what this team would do with Slater Surtain Horn Fields and Lance all on the board .

Everyone clamoring for trade downs has to realize that player you're assuming will be there may be off the board by the time you use that lower first round pick

The 2016 draft was horrible. If not for Bradberry (who we didn't even resign so that makes it even worse) it would have probably been the worst draft in team history . I was immediately incensed when we picked Vernon Butler and then proceeded to draft 3 CBs in a row . To his credit Gettleman had a much MUCH better final Panthers draft in 2017. Mccaffrey Moton Samuel all hits . Although Samuel didn't end up being a game breaking WR he had some decent contributions especially near the end of his tenure here.

You guys take poo way too seriously lol. The oline has been a problem for a long long time and I'm simply waiting for them to prove me wrong and finally fix it

Forgive me if I'm a bit cynical on this franchises ability to bring in competent oline free agents .

Less than two weeks till draft night ! I'm betting were going to start hearing some sort of rumors next week giving us a better hint on who were going to draft . Right now I'd say they're probably the most in love with Pitts. If no Pitts or Sewell I believe Fiterer will trade down slightly and pick up another 2nd rounder . We should be getting oline in at least one of the first two picks . I did three more sims : This one has is stay at 8 senario

Okay. Say we get chase . Now how do we use our over abundance of WRs? Who starts? Who is the odd man out ? Are you just going to put dj in the slot or something ?

I have a very very hard time believing Chase would make it past Cincy Miami and Detroit unless there's a feeding frenzy on QBs and OTs before 8 . Or some teams ahead of us make some very unexpected defensive player picks .

This is exactly where I'm at right now. Let's either be really bad and have high draft picks or really good playoff contender. I'm absolutely sick of the 5 and 6 win seasons. If you think about it if Kyle Allen doesn't go on a magic run early last season we might've got Burrow or Herbert . If we didn't stupidly sign teddy bridgewater and just simply started Grier we could've had Lawrence Wilson or Fields easily. Those meaningless few wins on losing seasons don't do anything to help you

Not sure I'm seeing too many people heavily supporting him now? I'll be honest I was extremely against signing Teddy from the moment I heard it and my opinion of him actually got worse as the season went on. Even winning some games I remembered the streak kyle allen went on and teddy couldn't even match that. Not to mention how our last few seasons have gone in general with the team falling to pieces down the stretch. With Darnold I'm not AS distraught as I was with Teddy. My faith meter is still fairly low but I'm at least hoping for something better then what we've been getting qb wise for the last 3 years . Theres going to be a riot if Darnold ends up just as bad as he was or close to it with the Jets. At that point I'll personally lose faith in the staffs ability to evaluate QBs and we will officially be in a Washington esque QB hell. Especially if a qb dropped to 8 that ends up being great and we passed /traded down bc we got Darnold. Whew boy. I think after teddy people have a right to be critical until sam proves us otherwise. 4 losing seasons in a row would be completely unacceptable no matter how you look at it.

If Fields or Lance drops to 8 we either trade down for a haul or pick one of them and go LT in R2. If all the QBs go before 8 we would still have a plethora of options (including trade downs).

1. Penei Sewell 2. Rashawn Slater I really don't want a CB in R1. Get a LT or elite position player to help Darnold out.
