Me to, although I think we would have to give up more than a mid round pick. In truth though, I think Love is going to be the Green Bay starter at Rogers will be looking at other places.

I am curious as to why Duke agreed to schedule a game at Miami two days after the big rivalry game. I didn't think they would win this one, although it was a lot more one sided than I thought it would be

Absolute and Absolutely NOTS Quarterback 2023
Davidson Deac II replied to Kick's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wish Tepper could just read this, say ok, draft someone, and have them magically turn into that guy. Unfortunately, its actually really difficult to get an elite qb. Even if you have the top pick in the draft, you could end up with Jalen Hurts or Pat Mahomes, but you could just as easily end up with Jameis Winston or Baker Mayfield. Actually, we did end up with Baker Mayfield. That being said, I do hope they draft a qb. -
More NIL drama. This time in college basketball
Davidson Deac II replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
Boheim said a stupid thing. He specifically called out Wake and Pitt for "buying" teams. Which is absurd. Jim Boeheim says he calls the shots on his retirement, claims Pitt, Wake Forest, Miami 'bought' their teams - CBSSports.com Boheim did later retract his statement about Wake and Pitt. But his comments are ironic given that he had wins vacated for impermissible gifts involving Carmelo Anthony. Might be time for the crazy old coot to retire. -
I went to high school with this guy, at least until he dropped out. He was a real piece of work. Alleged tractor thief charged after chase | Mt. Airy News (mtairynews.com)

Saints could be making a move for Carr
Davidson Deac II replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
If Payton was stll with the Saints, this would bother me a lot more. Since he is not, all I can say if we get the right qb/player combination, we should be ok. -
The beatings, I mean cuts, will continue until morale improves.

Sell me Justin Fields vs CJ Stroud
Davidson Deac II replied to Cam's New Arm's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lots of comments about OSU qb lack of success. But given the Bears luck or lack thereof with qb's, they will trade Fields, pick Young, and then Fields will become a star while Young will be a bust. -

There are several hundred college football teams. How could anyone possibly know that? -
I think Sam Darnold has a solid NFL career ahead of him. As a backup QB.
-
How much of Payton's "system" was because he designed his offense around what Drew Brees could do? And does he have the ability to adjust his "system" to another qb. Fwiw, Payton made Teddy Bridgewater and Jameis Winston look better, albeit it short stints. Can he do the same with Wilson? I guess we will find out.

Tepper admits to mistake in hiring Matt Rhule
Davidson Deac II replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well, at least one NFL owner hired a high school coach. -

Compared to Saturday, Rhule was over qualified. -
If memory serves, Carroll actually spent some time as New England's head coach before Bill B took over.
-
Yeah, the list of college coaches who made a successful transition is very low. In the modern day, its essentially Jimmy Johnson. I suppose you could argue that Barry Switzer did, but he essentially took over a team that was already built.

I was wondering this morning how many of the people making the NFL is rigged claims, bet on the Bengals. That might explain some of the obsession with the result.
-
They could easily have whistled the Cowgals to the NFC championship game, but they didn't.
-
They make the same amount of money regardless of who goes. So there is literally no reason for them to rig it.
-
If we win, its only because Tepper paid the refs. If we lose, its only because he didn't. The players, coaches, etc... are completely irrelevant. lol
-
Greedy does not equal rigged. Can you prove that getting the Chiefs in the SB over the Bengals would somehow get them more money?
-
I would say 99.9%. That call was correct or at least consistent with how those plays are normally called. The grounding call was correct. Most of the calls were correct. One can argue that more penalties should have been called against the Chiefs, but that is an argument that could be made in a lot of games.
-
The NFL is rigged, space aliens are real and being kept in a tank in rosell Roswell, the moon landings were fake, and Elvis is still alive.
-
Uh, ok. They can live without Mahomes, Burrow, Hurts, Brady etc... They make money hand over fist regardless. But a cowboys eagles NFC championship game followed by a steelers cowgals SB would be a ratings bonanza. That is what they would want if they were going to rig things.
-
Agreed. I will say that the possibility exist that a ref could be influenced by gamblers. It has happened in the past, and could happen in the future. Maybe even two could be influenced. But this was just another game with some questionable calls. Nothing else to it.
-
If the NFL was rigged, Steelers and Cowboys wouldn't have the Super Bowl drought that they do. They are the two most popular franchises and would get the highest ratings.
