I don’t know about him, but I am personally responsible for replacing the toilet paper in any stall that SCP visits.

New Coach Thread 2: Electric Boogaloo

Hum, Aaron Rodgers is opened to restructuring his contract, and is undecided about if and where he may play next year. -
New Coach Thread 2: Electric Boogaloo

If Payton is a no go, I’d love Reich. We need a coach with experience. These 2 year coordinators are everywhere and they don’t have experience, yet. -

Hum it is now being reported that a “mystery team” is watching the Payton situation. It might be time to saddle up? Wow Could McCarthy be available soon? -
New Coach Thread 2: Electric Boogaloo

There is a reason Ricky Spanish made this thread , “Electric Boogaloo”. -
Sure and we have the Giants, Dolphins, and Vikings roster too right?
-
I’m not saying he isn’t a great coaching prospect. I’m saying here we go again with a coach with no HC experience, and we will be in purgatory for the next two seasons. Hopefully, we can compete in 2025.
-
Probably, and we will hang our hat once again on an unknown commodity.
-
It was only a few years ago, Tampa did the same thing we are looking at doing here. They brought in Arians, went and got Brady and won a Super Bowl. Do we care what it costs us if we get a Super Bowl?
-
It is the same thing as Sean Payton, Mr. Scot. Ex rivalries are hard to let go. I have no doubt that both Quinn and Payton would have this team competing much faster than any rookie HC.
-
I’m pretty sure Indy has interviewed Brian Callahan. I would love for us to speak to him, but I think we may have enough candidates, at about 13-14 or so.
-
I mentioned this earlier in the week. I would take Brian 10 out of 10 times over Steichen.
-
Yep and I don’t like drafting quality prospects and waste them on shitty coaches. We need both and a seasoned veteran coach don’t grow on trees, so I would rather give up a few prospects now and be in a better position to coach next years class.

Saints sending us Sean Payton be like..
philit99 replied to The Huddler's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is the key. It takes rookie players 1-2 years to get up to speed in the NFL. If we give up 2, firsts we will feel it in years 2-4. Meanwhile, if we present the possibility of challenging for a Lombardi trophy some veteran players will chase that. Losing draft picks sucks, but you can navigate around it. You can’t navigate around having a clueless and lost head coach that wastes the talent they have on their roster. Coordinators with 1-2 years experience will need time to learn and adapt to situational football, time management, roster moves, and team moral. So do we want to compete now or in 2025-2026? -

Great point and I’m not sure the PSL sales and current stadium atmosphere could take another 3-5 years. I’ve been to almost all the Panther games, and the SF game may have been the worst I have ever seen in that stadium. I believe it is why Rhule was fired. There is only two ways to get asses back in seats, either become a snake oil salesman and provide artificial hope, or hire the candidate with the highest probability for success and generate buzz and excitement. -

Mainly it means that previous coaches were not doing their job and we have a decent team. If we get a player or two we could become competitive. Sean Payton is a competitive guy, same for Jim Harbaugh. It is why they both wanted this job, higher probability of success. Both have huge egos that need stroking. -
I’m not arguing value, I am just stating that Mayer will be gone before any other TE, and more than likely 12-20 range.
-
Mayer is a generational TE, he will be gone in the teens and could go top 10.
-
Wow heart breaking to see that.
-
Man Chatfield has really stepped his game up.!
-
Just think team we have about 3 more days of interviews. I wouldn’t mind having a look at Brian Callahan as well, at least he has 4 years of experience and not just the 1 or 2 that Shane Steichen or Mike Kafka have as a coordinator. Who knows how this will end.
-
That is what the media wants. Unless Payton doesn’t board the plane, Tepper will have an opportunity to hear Payton’s plain to fix this team. Everything is conjecture, unless it is reported that he will not meet Tepper. Furthermore, it is in Payton’s own best interest to meet the Panthers in order to create competition for his services.
-
Same, may as well keep Wilks and try again in a year or two. It is the best option.
-
By “safe” I mean no 2-3 learning curve on how to manage the clock, down and distance, the locker room, etc. By “safe” I mean a candidate that has experience. Is he exciting, no, will he put asses in seats, no.
-
Because just like us, he is a safe hire, that more than likely will not excite their fan base. I believe Wilks can be very successful, but not exciting. The goal for the panthers is not just winning, but get the fans back in the stadium. Management may think the only way to do that is a big hire. This is as much about selling PSL’s as it is about securing wins.
