  1. this needs to be happening. seriously.
  2. there's a lot to like about all the FA pick ups this year. Shy is going to be a huge ass asset there in the middle of the line. should be a big year for Brown. i'm just hoping that we see more action like this, though...
  3. they are playing up that '2 first round picks' part too much making it sound like they got more than what they did. it wasn't that. they swapped a 1st overall for a 9th overall. and then they got a 2nd. and then they got another 1st next year and a second the year after that. and they got a above average WR. meanwhile we got a guy who is going to make this team one of the best in the league for years and win us multiple superbowls.
  4. btw...for anyone who isn't on the Young bandwagon yet (and i do mean 'yet' because it's going to happen) i'll save a spot for you
  5. the mental part of the game will get you further than the physical part of it. the good thing is that i think bryce has plenty of the physical part of it. sure he's not the physical specimen that cam was, but he's still plenty mobile.
  6. actually @poundaway is the one who found it and posted it in the OTAs thread. But i agree. it was a good find.
  7. agreed with all of that. I'm not a huge Mac Jones fan. I think the guy is a bit of a putz, but aside from that he is smart but was put in a really crappy situation with Belichek and the pats. Best thing would have been for him to get traded somewhere else. Second best thing that could have happened for him did happen... the pats got a good OC for him (Bill O'Brien).
  8. what I thought early on when i really started paying attention to him is that he's the QB version, at least mentally, of Luke Kuechly. He doesn't just know intimately his offense and what they are supposed to be doing at any given moment within a play, he also knows intimately his opponents and where they are supposed to be at any at any given moment within a play. that makes it easy for him to anticipate, work around, and manipulate defenders. yeah, college is easier than pros, but which QBs coming out of college, even among successful ones, have had this kind of reputation? the guy is mentally on another level.
  9. dude is an unknown (league-wide) stud. can't wait to see him as well as Chinn in his new role(s).
  10. Not sure who all saw this in the OTAs thread, but this story just impressed the hell out of me as had all the things i've been hearing about him...especially the word "poise" i keep hearing/seeing said about him in all aspects. the kid is as impressive as you could want anyone to be so far. btw...props to @poundawayfor this find.
  11. one of my all time favorite football characters....i mean except for his take on dog fighting...and defrauding the league and getting sent to jail for 6 months for it. underrated player and a really funny/weird guy.
  12. Ladies and gentlemen....what we have right here is the pointy elbows guy.
  13. Excellent perspective. We both got what we wanted/needed out if the deal . That's the way all deals should be
  14. You might have intended for it to be, but nothing I said wasn't true. Those few of you who have been doubting Young the whole time will likely continue to do it and just like y'all have been doing you'll ignore the good things he's doing and key in on the very few mistakes and point to those as proof it was a bad decision. I've been around long enough to know how it works, the tendencies people have. You don't think it's a fair assessment of you, prove me wrong. Prove you have more to say about him than negative poo and "concerns". Or don't.
  15. I took enough of a beating working in a chicken house. Had to med with cranky cows a few times too. don't want to do that again. Btw, don't ever punch one in the side of the head. Just don't.
  16. And btw.....I would absolutely do the trade again and twice on Tuesday. We swung for the fences and I fully believe we knocked it out of the park. Prove me wrong.
  17. Only a few of you will overreact like that. I mean y'all have been doing it since the beginning. Why would that change? The rest know that he'll have some down moments, but the good ones will far outweigh the bad. We know he won't be perfect, but you know what? We happen to be excited anyways. All I can say is it would suck to be on the side of the fence that isn't excited and is all glum about it.
  18. They said he's going to be getting the most reps and he has and no one is talking about him being anything but the starter. Players and coaches have been pretty open about it. He's the guy. They haven't danced around it in the last 2 weeks and even then no one was buying it
  19. What messages about the QBs is causing you concern? Everything has been good so far. I've said it before...there's no one that scares me in this division or on our schedule this year. Everything is lining up for a good successful season.
