  1. agreed with all this. keep dalton. add another vet FA QB. whatever you do, you don't trade for one or draft one aside from maybe a late round flyer guy.
  2. if they haven't gotten a ring with this coach and QB combo by now, it's not going to happen. that window is shutting. but they are a perennial playoff team so it would be hard to justify doing it, but they aren't going further with this combo than they have so far. if the goal is a ring, then they need to shake it up. if they are satisfied with just getting in the playoffs then maintain the status quo, i guess.
  3. so far an F, as in we Fugged up bad. at best it's an incomplete. deciding factor on this is what the new coaching staff can do as far as development and scheme around him. not gonna hold my breathe.
  4. Morris worked with the offense in ATL.
  5. Morgan will do whatever Tepper wants him to do. If Morgan is as good as many of you hope, the best thing for him to do is get out of Charlotte.
  6. Can't imagine Evero sticking around for yet another year behind another guy he competed with for the HC job here.
  7. benefit of morris is that he has experience on offense as well. not that he'd call the offense, but he's got experience in all facets. and i don't lump him in with other retreads because 1) it's been over a decade since he was the bucs head coach and i don't count his stint as interim HC with the falcons. 2) he was only 33 when he started as HC there. very young and lots of room for growth, which i think he has done. one of the things we loved about wilks and why he would have been a much better option than what we had was the players really rallied around him and would fight for him in a way they would for few others. morris has that ability to get players motivated in the same way. i think it would be like getting a younger wilks. agree with you on macdonald and evero. pretty evenly matched and you still have the issue of who would coach the offense. it would be easier to get an idea with a couple others (including morris), but with these two you just don't know who it could be. they'd likely have to have a lot of help finding/recruiting someone to do it.
  8. hard for me to pick, but i'm leaning towards a defensive coach from this crop. unless we were to find a tough as nails offensive minded guy like dan campbell, i think the best chance for us getting our identity back is with one of the defensive coaches. i'm not crazy about getting a retread, but there are a couple i think would do really well. i would not hate mike vrabel at all, but i don't see that happening. i think my favorites (at the moment) are evero, morris, and macdonald.
  9. I tried doing one for who we felt ok settling for, but then I saw a squirrel.
  10. We've typically had better teams than what we've had since Tepper bought the team. But the scariest HC to me isn't who the falcons or anyone else hires, it's who we hire. We do more harm to ourselves than any opponent could ever do. Other teams can only hurt us for a game. The poo we're doing to ourselves through bad decision making has consistently put us into knife fights carrying a wet spaghetti noodle. All our opponents have to do is show up and they have at least a 75% chance of winning.
  11. let me go throw up first and maybe i'll be able to tell you
  12. There's not a position on this team we shouldn't be seriously evaluating and considering in the draft. Go BPA all the way.
  13. For those far too busy or just too damn lazy to watch a 12 minute video, here's your list. Watch the video for an explanation or just think you know everything there is to know about them I don't care. 10) Ejiro Evero 9) Frank Smith 8 ) Bobby Slowik 7) Antonio Pierce 6) Ben Johnson 5) David Shaw (former Stanford HC) 4) Raheem Morris 3) Mike Vrabel 2) Jim Harbaugh 1) Bill Belichik Again, watch the video for getting an idea of where he's coming from. Or don't. It's just an interesting perspective from a guy whose opinion I always thought was interesting. Not sure about Ben Johnson being so low or David Shaw being on it at all, but i appreciate having my thoughts scrambled a bit.
  14. Interesting be takes on a few that I haven't heard around here...esp. Raheem Morris.
  15. unless i'm mistaken (quite possible, fwiw) no one can have in person interviews until the 22nd.
  16. yeah, they are being really tight lipped about everything so far this year...probably guided by the advisory team.
  17. So by the end of the day we will have also interviewed Morris and Quinn. and as far as belichick or harbaugh....maybe we're just not interested in a dinosaur and some guy who isn't really interested in coming to the east coast?
  18. no sense in freeing them up until we know what direction we are going to go. sucks for the coaches, but that's part of the deal with the contract they signed. there's no obligation to let them go. of course it's not going to make anyone want to stay around. if they already wanted to check out of this dumpster fire, this will only want them to bail out more. there' s really no winning with this for anyone. but this is what kind of thing can happen when you work for a crap organization.
  19. Our identity, when it has been at its best, has come when we were just punch you in the face tough and I think that's the identity we miss the most. The idiot savant is what is shiny at the moment, but we need someone who will get the players to fight when its all falling down around you. We're at the bottom and we're going to have to fight to climb out. Give me the guy who will instil that.
  20. Said it elsewhere, I've got a feeling we won't be hiring a guy over 50... probably will be younger than 40.
