That is literally the stupidest analogy I've ever heard.

Being a supreme athlete with one in a million talents is called a privileged individual with an opportunity most individuals will never have. And no, most college athletes do not come from poverty. Living in government housing or a trailer and eating off food stamps is called being poor, but that isn't poverty. Living in a third world country with no clean water is poverty.

Who cares if athletes get special opportunities in America? That has nothing to do with making a "great" country. They funnel teenagers from 3rd world African countries everyday to play basketball. They funnel teenagers from Cuba, Venezuela, etc everyday to play baseball.

You're about as dense as it gets.

There's no sense in talking to a clueless individual who doesn't even know the definition of poverty (i.e. the state of being extremely poor).

And the analogy isn't super dumb because 1) this is a forum dedicated to sports (making the analogy relevant to the forum), and 2) becoming an athlete is something that most children dream about.

You're using of the world opportunity makes it sound like life is handed to you on a silver platter, I call it hard work to crest the opportunity. You aren't just born an athlete, you have to work for it; just like you aren't born a lawyer or The President of the United States. In quite a few countries the profession that your family is involved in is usually the profession that you will go into.

And once again you obviously have no concept of what makes America great, the opportunities that we get as American's are far superior to those of other countries.

You're about as uninformed and naive as it gets.

Read a book, or go back to school (something we as American's have the opportunity to do)... or something.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
