ESPN: Russell Wilson: 1st player in NFL history with 300 passing yards and 100 rushing yards in a game

that is incredible, when i first saw the stats i couldnt believe the numbers.... what player in history would you compare Wilson too... and do you think Manziel has the ability to do what Wilson is doing right now

A lot of people compare Wilson to a modern 21st Century version of the legendary HOF QB Fran Tarkenton

An earlier post mentioned Rivers weapons. Look where those guys got drafted and what the Chargers have lost thus far.

Rivers has a nice surrounding cast at the skill positions, it's his offensive line that sucks. Note when Brady struggles, some people blame it on his OL. But Rivers, Ryan, and Brees are all doing well with bad OLs as well...

Sacks, Hit and Hurries Allowed by Offensive Line

88 San Diego Chargers (Rivers)

88 Atlanta Falcons (Matt Ryan)

84 Minnesota Vikings (Teddy Bridgewater)

84 New England Patriots (Tom Brady)

84 Buffalo Bills (Kyle Orton)

82 San Fransisco 49ers (Colin Kaepernick)

79 New York Jets (Geno Smith)

79 New Orleans Saints (Drew Brees)

78 Carolina Panthers (Cam Newton)

75 St. Louis Rams (Austin Davis)

NFL.com:

-The Chargers' hot streak cooled considerably in front of the home folk Sunday, partially because Philip Rivers wasn't on his game.

-at this point, anyone who thinks Russell Wilson is a glorified "game manager" -- or clearly inferior to Andrew Luck -- is crazy. Wilson threw for 313 yards and ran for 106 against the Rams -- without committing a single turnover.
