Ron Rivera holds players accountable, but not coaches?

Dom Capers: 1 winning season in 4

Seifert: 0 winning seasons in 3

Fox: 2 winning seasons in first 4 (no complaints about all 4 seasons really if you're familiar with them), left with 3 in 9

Rivera: 1 winning season in 4

I wouldn't mind firing Rivera after this season. I'd love to have a new owner more than anything, but that's going nowhere.

We're in for at least one more season of Rivera and Cam.  They extended Rivera in the offseason and Richardson won't pay a coach who's not coaching in Carolina.

Cam will be in his 5th year option next year and if the team plays this bad next season, it could be curtains for both.  Cam by choice, Rivera gets fired.

Both Capers and Seifert were under contract when they were fired. I think Richardson would absolutely fire Rivera. Rivera on Sundays is worse than the others we've had by far.

Shouldn't have never extended him. They made a mistake, so own up to it. Pay him his money whether he's here or not

They should fire him if the team can't even make a run at the playoffs in this division.  But it's too early to say.  The schedule starts to get a lot easier from here on out.  Thursday's game against the Saints is THE SEASON.  Even if the Saints win tonight, the Panthers could beat the Saints and retake first place and be 2-0 in the division with a chance to run the table in the division.  There's still hope, but this loss hurts.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
