Cam Newton

If Cam gets offered only top-15 QB money by this front office, he's gonna ball out somewhere else as the Los Angeles Panthers struggle in mediocrity. Sorry, but being serious for a minute, it's a franchise-crushing fugup if Cam's contract isn't extended.

I promise you Tom Brady,Payton Manning, and Aaron Rogers dont make that mistake. I knew it when we got near the goal line he was going to make a dumb play. Its just what he does and his QB coach should rip him a new one for it.

Cam has some pretty fatal flaws in terms of going through reads, pass accuracy and his awareness in the pocket. 2/3 were a problem.

To be positive, I thought Cam was fantastic in the pocket last night. We had few third and longs because Cam didn't take unnecessary sacks all game, When the pocket weakened he shifted and bought time and made plays.

I don't know what can be done about Cam's issues reading defenses and making passes. People talk about Wilson being put in good positions which he is but without accuracy and touch those you don't go 8/8 on third down. Seattle has so many strengths in terms of play design, running play and Wilson's ability to react to pressure that they're able to setup plays where he can usually go to his goto receiver easily and make huge plays. Cam could not step into that role and do the same with his accuracy issues.

But DA has played so exceptionally well he deserves a strong look. First DA looks good in training camp and all I hear is "its only training camp!" Then he looks good in pre season and all I hear is "its just pre season!" Then he plays two regular season games and looks like Peyton Manning, and all I hear is "but its teh Bucz!!"

DA has done enough to atleast warrant some cnsideration about rolling with him. He is just such a great passer from the pocket. Why on earth will you handicap your salary cap by signing Cam to a huge mega contract when a guy like DA can possibly do better for fraction of the cost.

What would you rather have, spend all your money on Cam and as a result have a bad team around him, or roll with DA and use that money for a elite WR and O line pieces?

Cam is a good player. Not great.

He's a less-than average thrower with bad decision making. His legs are what makes him special.

Combined with a big arm, he has all the talent in the world. But he has terrible balance and throwing mechanics on his throws. Add in his bad decision making, and all that talent goes to waste.

Seattle did exactly what they needed to do to win. Make Cam a passer.

IMO, he could be an elite QB if he could learn how to be an effective thrower.

Until then, he's gonna be stuck in the middle of the pack.

And ofcourse I get the typical response with no valid arguments to disprove why im wrong on DA. Ok let me put it this way, in your opinion is Cam Newton worth 145 million?! Its a yes or no question because he will NOT, I repeat, WILL NOT settle for anything less. Especially now with a playoff win

Tom Brady made that mistake against Baltimore on the same day.

Just saying.
