ya Delhomme is lookin pretty good. better whn our running game is back. Pep is Pep. He will bring it when he has to. No worries there. Schedule is tough, its our own division tht im worried about tho. only thing tht really concerns me is the D.

oh ya and that Fox needs to be replaced thread must be a joke...........right?

I'm not sure why everyone is down on Delhomme. He's one of the few starters who hasn't sucked this preseason. He's done just fine.

Exactly! Fox's system implements a top 5 D and a middle of the pack ball control run game O. Jake is doing exactly what our philosophy is and in fact is even asked to do more than he should be. Its completely fickle to want more from our Offense. Our D needs 90% of our attention and changes.

Our D has lost all identity and is embarrassing. We could revamp our D in an off season and have a super-bowl team. If We change QBs we take a huge risk and guarantee a rebuilding year to decade. Jake gets the ball to our stars and does his job well. Our D does not.

Fox is the root of this issue and it he is not the same coach that we saw in 02,03,04,and kinda 05.

What we need if we look like the last half of last season:

Fox gone,

HUNGRY D focused Coach,

New D coordinator who is a ball buster,

Revamped D line (ALL OF EM)

Revamped 2ndary (most of em)

Same O with some more depth - the O has proven it can be effective with the player we have.

Think about it this way: Our currentO is better than our 03 SB Offense and our current D is significantly worse than 03.

So why are we focused on Jake and not 2/3 of our D first?

    • I think we pick it up and then someone else ends up emerging as the QB next year and we end up cutting him in year 5 and eating it.  That would be the most on brand thing to happen.
    • Evero has his faults, but even in that loss, the team only gave up 20 points. Your post gets to the heart of the matter. We are not a talented team on defense at this time. Some of our younger guys may develop w/more playing time, but for now we have no impact players at LB or EDGE. We could really use a ball-hawking S on the back end as well. We have exactly two players that have to be accounted for on every play, D. Brown, and J.Horn. Mike Jackson has been solid. The other starters would probably be backups on most the upper echelon NFL teams. We really can't expect this team to a Top 10 defense with such a lack of talent. All things considered I've been somewhat impressed with how much better they have played this year.   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-points-per-game   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-average-team-passer-rating We are in the top 15 in terms of points allowed per game (22.6) and top 12 in defensive passer rating (88.9). And, we are doing this without a formidable PASS RUSH. Even our rushing defense has improved. We are #16 in rushing yards allowed per game (116) compared to 179 per game last season. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-rushing-yards-per-game I wouldn't cry if Evero moved on after the season, but his defense isn't the biggest worry for our team.
    • The funny part is she looks older and not in a good way...
