Washington St WR Vince Mayle would be a good "Plan B" on day two for a team that covets WR DeVante Parker but doesn't get him in the 1st rnd

Vince Mayle does all the little things well and can dominate at the LOS.

Pro Day per Scout.com:

NFL Scouts from Carolina, Miami, Atlanta, Tennessee, Kansas City, Seattle, New England, Pittsburgh, and San Francisco were all in attendance to watch QB Halliday and WR Mayle work out.

...

Fighting through a painful broken thumb on a cold, windy morning with intermittent snowflakes blowing around, Mayle caught 15 of the 17 passes Halliday threw. One of Mayle’s drops came when he ran a curl route, the other drop was on a deep ball from Halliday.

...

Mayle said he’s been training with NFL wide receiver and former MVP of Super Bowl XLII Santonio Holmes in Orlando

on what he had to do at his Pro Day to impress:

"The [40] time doesn’t really concern me that much," CBS NFL draft analyst Rob Rang. "If he can run in the 4.5s, 4.6s at 222-pounds, I know he's got hops, I know he's got lateral agility to make people miss and I've been impressed by his work ethic."

He has major drop issues. He had 19 last year according to PFF which put him as 11th worst among draftable WR's for drop rate and the most overall. He's an intriguing prospect though. I suspect some team that thinks they can fix that takes a flier on him a little earlier than most think he should go.

    • Don't have to be miss cleo. His weakness are length, athleticism, creating his own shot, defense, finishing at the rim,  Strengths - shooting and IQ.   Likely won't work as non athletic shooters don't typically work.

    • I live in Indiana and took a trip that weekend to watch my two friend's teams play (Chiefs and Vikings) IN Minnesota when they were playing at a college field, I think TCF? Anyways, our plan was to watch the game (noon game) then do some shopping at the Mall of America, I wasn't planning on watching the Panthers play Seattle since I was out sight seeing and walking around after the noon game had ended. By the time we were walking back into the Mall the Panthers were down by 2 scores in the 4th or going into the 4th and we were all thirsty from walking around for 2.5 hours after the Vikings game so we decided to postpone shopping until after we ate. We found this nice little sports bar inside the mall that had the game on. Man, I'm so glad we skipped shopping because that was probably the most excited I've been in some time for a win. Beating Seattle in 2015 felt like the "monkey off the back" sort of feeling and I knew we had finally arrived as a team. The entire bar erupted when Cam hit Olsen for that walk off TD. Literally one of the greatest moments of my life. My friend wasn't so happy though lol, by the time the Panthers game ended ALL of the stores inside the mall had closed and he wasn't able to get any souvenirs. It was his first time watching a Vikings game live and making a trip like that so he was legit upset lol. I on the other hand couldn't have been happier.
