Incredibly, I'd take DA over half of the starting QBs currently in the League.

We are fortunate at the QB position, no doubt.

A lot of people (even Panther fans) don't realize Newton was the CONSENSUS #1 PICK by the time that draft rolled around in April.

Unfortunately, many of us only seem to remember TV analyst opinions. But they're not NFL people. Nor, do they do the research, film break down and interviews that NFL teams do.

And this is because, both the NFL and Panther scouting services answered all the questions on Cam's pocket skills, coach-ability/hard work and "character".

Unfortunately, many Panthers fans-like the Media, didn't get the memo. But NFL teams did. There was no question the Panthers were going to pick Cam. And so would Buff with the second pick, and their GM as much said so when asked.

We could have had Aaron Rodgas a long ass time ago too. I wouldn't trade our team for the world though. I like most of the guys and hate none of them. Even Greg Hardy was fun to cheer for until he went too far.

But yes, analysts were fooled into thinking he was a decent prospect because of where he went to school.

Man, I'm a ND fan, and I watched our pick get closer and closer , I knew we were going to pick to him. Hated that day.
