Wonder how the Panthers stayed out of trouble on off-day Tuesday?

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Welcome to Club Shiznit.

Have you ever been in a hotel and wondered why there was a dead-bolted door to nowhere jammed into one side of your main corridor? Well, that door connects to the room next to it, and if you're a member of the Carolina Panthers, it's also the opening to an exclusive social gathering space.

At the team's headquarters here in San Jose, fullback Mike Tolbert and running back Fozzy Whittakerbroke out the door that separated both of their rooms and made it into a suite. The purpose?

"There's no alcohol, no nothing, no women. It's only us. We having a good time playing cards, laughing, playing video games, just enjoying life, enjoying being at the Super Bowl, enjoying having a good time."

Club Shiznit underscores what has been an immensely lighthearted run throughout the season. This is not unique, of course. Stories like this tend to populate Super Bowl week every year because good teams usually get along well. General manager Dave Gettleman knew that this was the type of environment that head coach Ron Rivera was trying to create, and his familiarity with the personalities on the team spawned a tight-knit team that nearly finished the season undefeated.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
