Traveling For the SB?

Denver is 1 hour ahead of Cali, while Carolina is 3 hours ahead. Its a shorter flight distance as well for them. Not to mention, 2 of Denver conference teams are in Cali. It's more common for them going there

Was it a good idea to travel to Cali 1 week before the SB game? Why not travel that Monday noon after the NFC Championship Game and practice that week there in San Jose? Was San Jose preoccupied with other activities?

I'm reading on Panthers.com about the Panthers not themselves on Sunday. One thing I know is the team seemed to lack energy at the start of the game which is something the Panthers exceled at. Jumping out quick.. Spending 1 week adjusting to the time difference of East-West isn't enough for football teams, but add in the all the off-field media requirements on that same week can definitely throw a team off

Agreed. I stayed at the team hotel on Thurs night and they were already tired.

The media circus was crazy.

And while I was ecstatic to be staying there, the team would do well to do as they told the players that it was only players, friends, and family, and starting on Friday, employees. Players asked who I was with and confused as to how I was there. So having a refuge from additional outside ppl could be beneficial.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
