Some more food for thought; Things we hear other people say, or utter bs

Just from an execution standpoint, it would be almost impossible to pull off without someone in the chain talking. You'd have to go through several dozen intermediaries to get away with it, and at the end of the day, had Cam won the Super Bowl, the money he would have made in endorsements would have dwarfed what he could make on a single bet.

Kind of a spin-off from the other thread.

Now, I have not heard this from anybody, except from one person. And tbh a story like this would get some traction in all the news, not just ESPN, NFLN, ie the Huddle.

But the story goes, Cam, his father and uncle bet against the Panthers and threw the Superbowl.

I tied to correct this dude, but...this is how stupid sh!t gets started and people believe it.

We will always hear people say all kinds of things, take it all with a gain of salt. Much like positive or negative online reviews.

Dude, people STILL believe that Auburn paid $200,000 for Cam after all these years.  Even after hundreds of NCAA investigators were on Auburn's campus for a year probing into every aspect of the program.  Even after the Newton family opened their OWN books to the NCAA investigators probing the matter (when they didn't have to since NCAA investigations have no power to demand private citizens cooperate).  What did the NCAA come up with?  Zero.  Zilch.  Nada.  What did the media from coast to coast who wanted to take Cam and his Dad down come up with?  Zero.  Zilch.  Nada.

Yet people still believe.

DID Auburn pay Cam and the Newtons?   I have no idea.  Would I care if they did?  Not a damn bit.  But if one wants to believe EVIDENCE rather than RUMOR, Cam and his family were and are innocent.

Yet people still believe.

Unfortunately, hate inspires faith much more powerfully than love.
