Interesting trivia, re: Carolina/Atlanta Super Bowls`

Maybe someone has already pointed these out in another thread.  If so, apologies for the duplication.

- As of Sunday, the Panthers (in 22 years of existence) and the Falcons (in 51 years of existence) will have each played in 2 Super Bowls.  And, in doing so, they will have played the same organizations in those Super Bowls (Denver and New England).

- In Super Bowl XXXIII, the Falcons lost to a Denver Broncos team led by a retiring Hall of Fame QB playing in his final game (Elway).  In Super Bowl 50, the Panthers lost to a Denver Broncos team led by a retiring Hall of Fame QB playing in his final game (Manning).

- In Super Bowl XXXVIII, the Panthers lost to a New England Patriots team with a reputation for cheating led by QB Tom Brady.  In Super Bowl LI, the Falcons will be playing a New England Patriots team with a reputation for cheating led by QB Tom Brady.

This Sunday, will history yet again repeat itself?

Here is another random fact. For the first Falcons Super bowl in 1999, I had a SB party at my house. Your cult leader, J Igo was there and was pulling for the Falcons and I believe at one point did the Dirty Bird dance. Started lightly snowing at halftime for just a few minutes and TW cable decided to go out and he took his Falcon fandom home.

The End.

I feel dirty reading that.

    • Duke lost me 17 units they can suck my balls. I hope they lose
    • I had similar thoughts on this recently. Maximizing talent on the team overall given the salary cap means having to replace expensive talent with new talent at a much lower cap number, even if there may be a downgrade in that position group. Take our O-line, for example. We had to spend the money to lift it from the bottom of the barrel but if we want to improve in other areas and pay some players their new contracts, we need to draft their replacements now. A small slip in performance is likely worth 20 million/year in savings and if your new guys are even better than the old ones, you're in really good shape
    • Play starters the entire game and they run out of gas halfway through the second half
