Still a fan but.....

Face it, we all are fans thats why we are so emotional about the way this season has started off. I can voice my anger like so many on the board but anger solves nothing without action. I think it's time for some changes but change come from the top ppl. If they can't see what we all are seeing then I can't invest anymore energy behind a losing strategy. I truly hope that they can turn the season around but I honestly am doubtful. This team lacks leadership. A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link and the weakest link are the main links for the Panthers. I am already looking towards the 2010 season. I hope to see a new Head coach, OC, DC, QB, DE, another WR threat to help Steve Smith. Until then I can't support them because you can't keep doing the same thing and expecting different results. Tonight was the nail in the coffin for me. I can't understand why would you keep a player on your team when he clearly wants to leave and then pay him 16 million to do nothing. I can't understand why you would extend the contract of a QB who hasn't proved himself worthy of it after a dissapointing playoff game and has confidence issues. I can't understand why you would keep a Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator who don't realize if it aint working then try something new. I can't understand and I can't support financially a team who are so lost that they couldn't find sand if they were in the desert. I hope they atleast get a win. Time to look to the 2010 season and hope that the GM and owners finially start seeing it for what it is.

    • Except it wouldn't be Rodgers leading them on a postseason run, it would be the defense and he's there to not screw up their great games. Which is why..... This times a million. I didn't watch a ton of the Jets last year, but from what I did see, Rodgers himself didn't look like a bum, the team just struggled and was more than likely due to poor coaching on the whole.  The Steelers don't need MVP level Rodgers to win games, they just need him to be good enough to make some plays when it matters because the defense is keeping them in games every week regardless. In their 7 losses last season, the Steelers scored 10, 13, 17, 17, 17, 19, and 24... while giving up 19, 20, 24, 27, 27, 29, and 34 in those games.  With only marginally better offense last year, they probably end up winning a few more games too. They only scored over 27 points in 3 games last season. I think this is a great move by the Steelers and if Rodgers can stay healthy all year, will get them back into the playoffs and could make some noise if their defense is up to the normal level of a Steelers defense.
    • I hope we are as improved as a lot of fans are hoping. However, this time of year everyone in the league thinks they have improved. It will be interesting.
    • How many new starters will we have on defense?  That could be a good thing given how bad the D was last year, but it could also take some time for them to gel.
