Running Back Depth Chart

So after what was one of the more anxious/interesting draft nights (personally was hoping we made the move for Fournette), I am fully behind the selection as I defer to the ''shorts''. So now that he's a Panther what's that runningback room going to look like...

Stewart

McCaffrey

Whittaker

Artis-Payne

Simmons

Do you guys think Gettleman will draft the future bell-cow back to replace Stewart as I still don't see McCaffrey as a 20+ carry back in the NFL.  I think we got a heck of a dynamic player to help bolster and improve our offense, but I still think we're looking for the heir to Stewart. Also McCaffrey is most closely resembles Whittaker from a build/rough skill set comparison so is he going to be the odd man out when it's all said and done, or will it be CAP?

    • well, players dictating things only works if you have the right collection of players to dictate things.  and in all honesty, not sure if we can answer if we do or don't as fans given......there are no Thomas Davis types around that we know are actually about X and Y (based on years showing it).  Collective team is too new to us to know what these dudes are really about in terms of players carrying the burden of culture.
    • Moore can be put in one of the vet spots on IR. No one will be checking for him at the start of the season. But I would be very perturbed if we tried to go all Gettlemagic and stash an obvious talent like Horn on practice squad like we did Butker. If we can get through this year, next year it will be obvious Moore and AT will be gone, starting namely with AT's contract.
    • Culture change comes from the top down, not from drafting a 3 and no D guard. I doubt Lamelo is gonna take his cues from this 20yr old kid lol. If Brandon Miller couldn’t change the culture with how good he is and how much he hustles on both ends, Kon Knueppel sure as hell ain’t changing it. Ace Bailey by all accounts is also a great teammate and hard worker, btw, who was drafted by a team he supposedly didn’t want to go to yet he immediately bought in. And he’s got actual length and tools on both ends of the floor. I feel this pick is going to age like milk rather quickly.
