Coaching is why Jarrett shows bust

Ummm..because they needed to get and develop a # 2 WR at the time?

Develop is the KEY word. How many have we "developed"? That's what I thought.

Even with #1's we don't. People can blame it on USC all they want, but there is a ton of blame to be placed within our organization as well.

That is a given, but explain why they drafted him in the first place then. They knew what they were gonna run on offense. WHY?

Because, at the time, they had no idea that they would be able to get Moose back in Carolina for so cheap a price, or that he would even still be playing football by now. If he wasn't here, Jarrett would be the #2 WR right now.

Yeah, and Kenny Moore will catch anything you throw his way, and has speed, yet rarely see's the field.

Explain that. Moore's fault I guess........

I think Kenny Moore is highly overrated by Panthers fans, which is a recurring theme for people with that last name.

I agree with the OP. Jarrett catches everything that Jake throws to him. If only

we didn't have "he who chews gum and claps".

And why doesn't Jake throw to him more often even when he is in the game? Because .....

Jarrett doesn't get open. There's nothing more to it.

For how big a receiver he is Jarrett seldom gets separation from the defender. The coaches can't do it for him.

yep.

I'm actually a bit surprised that Jarrett doesn't get more slants, and that he doesn't get those back shoulder cuts that Moose and Smith do. Then again, I've yet to see him do them that well. He should do them well pretty easily. Not sure.

Either way, we'll go into next year hearing about how he's ready this time.

he catches everything thrown to him. at his size he doesnt have to be way open anyway. he can go up for jump balls. funny how he has to be wide open to get the ball but for moose or smith they can be double or tripled covered and jake still throws it to them. also how do you guys know if he is open or not or if he gets seperation? do you guys have game film or something?

He is the 3rd wr on a run first team that had more attempts last year than just about anyone and a qb with tunnel vision, a a coach witha prepensity to play vets over anyone else. what do you guys expect of him?

The problem is that Jarrett is only on the field for about 10-15 plays a game in the first place. The Panthers just choose to use 2 WR's most of the time because they are a run first team and they're using the TE's in the passing game more as well. So blame it on the schemes.

outside of last season when Smitty was suspended...Jarrett has never been ont he field for that many snaps in a game. 10-15? He probably has averaged 5 or so a game.

What has been thrown to him are on short out routes where he stops and the defender doesn't. That's why he gets open on those routes. He's shown that he doesn't jump or fight for balls so in the 2-3 seconds that Jake has to decide where to throw the ball, it's not going to Jarrett unless he is almost wide open or it's a desperation 3rd down throw. Jake will throw the ball to Smitty & Moose when it appears that they are covered because 8 out of 10 times they will jump or fight or otherwise catch that ball. It's a matter of trust that has to be earned.

This is the 3rd year for this guy so there's been plenty to see. Sometimes on tv Jarrett is in the shot. But I go to all of the home games and the advantage of seeing the game in person is that I can watch any player I want to, not who the camera is on. I also paid attention to his 3 years of preseason games where he played more.

I disagree with your assessments of our QB & coach. But I expect Jarrett, after being here 3 years, to at least begin to stand out as a player and earn Jake's trust. I haven't seen that. BTW if Fox didn't play the vets 1st, you'd see Kenny Moore out there instead of Jarrett. So don't be complaining. :P

    • I agree with OP notion, QBs always get credited for game winning drives even if they do minimal. Just last night Caleb got credited for a GE drive when they basically ran the ball the whole drive and only had to go 36 yards.   And there are drives where Bryce could of had a game winning drive if not for a Legette drop vs Philly or a Chubba fumble vs Tampa
    • You are actually, genuinely comparing Bryce to Jimmy fuging Pickles? Jimmy accounted for 3 touchdowns in his 10 starts in 2010. In Bryce’s 10 games post benching last year, he accounted for 20 touchdowns. Jimmy threw three touchdowns in 2010. Three. Bryce has thrown 10 touchdowns through 6 games. He is currently on track to throw for 3300 yards, 28 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Wtf are we even talking about anymore. I mean seriously
    • Tepper? The guy that directs the coaches towards goals that he set for them… that guy. He is the one.    I don’t think he ever was going to be expelled from class, they had him come in for garbage time maybe the 2nd week he was benched.  I will say this. People said he wasn’t under pressure the last part of the year when he did better, but he was fighting for his career and that’s pressure. And he saved his career too. I don’t reject him for those kinds of things I reject him for the physical things. I have always brought it down to he has slim margin for error and has to be perfect. People with the tool set have a little fatter margin for error. Why make it harder on yourself? Got nothing to do with hating him.  I am no statistician but game that margin thing out a lot and see how that works.
