I think most people's disdain for that episode comes from the masterful mocking of the sacred cows, Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy. It was a well written episode.

Even though this episode was just a different play on last season's marriage counseling episode with Beth and Jerry, I still liked the hell out of it.
