What happens if a ball is punted from the 1 crosses the  line of scrimmage and is untouched and bounces back into the inzone and is touched by the kicking team.

If the receiving team touches in this scenario its a touchdown.  Its treated  as a normal punt because it crossed the line of scrimmage.

The rules show that any punt that does not make it past scrimmage is live for either team , but this scenario focuses on what happens on a punt past the line and bounces back into the endzone 

and is recovered by the kicking team ... 

 

is it a Safety?

a touchdown for the opposing team ?

or down on the 1  yard line first and goal receiving team?

The reason I ask this is because a Local HS game had a punt not cross the line of gain and  the kicking team  picked it up in the endzone and advanced it 98 yards to down on the 2   first and goal kicking team  lulz crazy

 

but that was the correct call.

I'd guess it's still a live ball and if the kicking team is tackled in the end zone then it would be a safety. Hard to imagine it ever happening w/o being blocked.

if the kicking team touched it - it would be the same as downing it anywhere else no need to tackle but what would "downing it" in your on endzone constitute?  I know its far fetched but it almost happened in this highschool game.  The punter was in the endzone ball spotted inside the 5   He punts the dang ball almost straight up in the air. It lands at the 5 yard line  and bounces backwards into the endzone.......
