Pacific Rim Uprising

So here's the trailer for Pacific Rim Uprising

Needless to say, I am so thrilled!  I adore the first one, this one has some very different visuals from a stylistic standpoint, but the real meat is that giant robots and monsters and some combination of them will fight!

I need to see this on the biggest screen with the best audio to pummel my intelligence into submission.

oh a new digital movie. can't wait to not see it.

So you don't think it's fun.  That's fine.  Care to elaborate other than "meh?"

It's not going to be a fine work of cinematic achievement on the level of Scorsese.  It's the simple joy of watching giant robots punch giant monsters and destroy cities.  Physics be damned!

But I only hope it doesn't take itself too seriously.  The first one had just enough winking at the audience to be really enjoyable.  I worry that it's just not going to embrace it's own silliness, despite it looking like it was colored to be as "anime" like as possible.

He has elite throwing skills but he's disaster waiting to happen when he has to press and a QB has to press on a bad team. Seattle is a great spot for him surrounded with great weapons with an elite defense to lean on.  Swap him and Stafford last night and the Seahawks cruise while Darnold has 3-4 turnovers having to try to play hero ball for the Rams.
    • This picture was posted by the NFL back in September and shows Darnold and Maye at the front closest to the Lombardi trophy. I personally don’t believe in the “script” theory. I do believe that the NFL will influence specific games to get a more entertaining outcome at times. However, this is gaining some steam online and even got a response from NFL PR.
    • In the last 5 years, nearly 10% of the NFL's starting QBs (19% of the NFC QBs) were / are (at some point) on the Panther's roster.  Of those QBs, their 2025 win percentage (regular season) was (combined-- the Seahawks, Bucs, and Panthers) won 30 of 51 games--nearly 60%--in 2025.  At an average of 10 wins per season, a team has a better than 90% chance of making the playoffs.  (Heck, I nearly added Caleb Williams to this forumula since we basically gave the Bears their QB as well).
